i may only be 13 but i still listen to these guys and i remember listening to them with my grandpa.... he unfortunatley died in 2007 and i still miss him thanks for posting this
Charlie Gearheart was born in eastern Kentucky, in the Floyd County community of Goose Creek. (south of Martin, KY) This is where he learned to play. He was in high school when he moved to AZ.
I GREW UP WITH ALL THIS AWESOME MUSIC. BUT AT THE TIME I DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT "GOOD" MUSIC WAS!!! EVERYTIME I HEAR THIS ALBUM I THINK OF FAMILY, FRIENDS, INSTRUMENTS, AND A MASON JAR!!!

Was turned on to these guys in the early 70s in the upstate region of SC.They were great then, and they are great now.Would love to see them live.Brings back some really good memories. Those were the GOOD OLD DAYS.
These guys used to go fishing in our backyard, I still have this autographed LP. I had forgotten about it all til I saw some groovy bluegrass cover of Guns n Roses.
I've always loved em....this was the first one of their songs I heard on the radio back then here in Atlanta...(73?)...I tripped and got stoned to their stuff from then on...still do....no acid these days though..... Pabst, & herb will do thank U......Praise the Lard and pass the hooch.....Love & Piece!
@SinandSatan Dude Goose Creek Is in Floyd County Kentucky Eastern part of the state near Hazard, Prestonsburg, And Pikeville ... That is where Charlie grew up!!!!!
This version of this song was more well-known here in Tennessee than the other one. I think of this group every time I drive past the Goose Creek Inn and Restaurant on I-65 about 30 miles south of Nashville.
Saying Goose Creek is a "bluegrass" band is like saying Bill Monroe was a "Rock Star"
...lmao

An old girlfriend back in the early 1970's turned me on to them. This group was my first introduction to Bluegrass music.
