@frightwolf: I don't see George as troubled or confused, merely human. We are all contractions, doing the opposite often of what we say. The problem is that he's a "Beatle" which puts him under a microscope and we all expect more of him than mere humanity. George was an inspiration because he worked towards an ideal that I would love to be able to reach, and the joy in him is in his struggle to overcome his humanity to become something spiritual. I don't know if he suceeded. I know I haven't.
The Lennon memorial has become a Beatle fan meeting point. There were fans there paying tribute to Linda McCartney after she died as well. It's a central meeting point. I've used it as a meeting point for Beatle musicians too.
The Beatles themselves were like other men, but the music and lyrics channeled through them contained magic and messages from beyond the mind. If you love The Beatles and their music, go to TruthContest(dot)com, open "The Present," and read through the section about The Beatles.
@germino777 I think all untimely deaths are tragic. Those who died on 9/11 were merely going to work and were struck down without warning. George influenced me, and I miss him, but he is one just one person in a world of people. We should mourn them all equally.
@FrlghtWolf Dude, don't hate on George. It was his life choice. We're allowed to be sad at the death of a genius, influence and an Idol. His lyrics are so true and inspiring maybe you should take some time to sit down, relax and listen to them.
@JoshhLyons - I don't "hate" George. I do not genuflect at the feet of celebrities...nor do I spew hatred towards them. George was a deeply confused man in my opinion. Who else would preach the importance of "taking care of ones body" while he smoked 6 packs of cigarettes a day? What I strongly dislike are his fans who portray him as a "genius" or an equal to Lennon and McCartney. I've listened to all of George's music and I must tell you, most of it is NOT very good.
Let me give it to you all straight. George Harrison was a musical genuis, his songs were as good or better than the best Lennon-McCartney ever wrote. Look at I'm Happy Just To Dance With You Or While My Guitar Gently Weeps and then his solo songs were nothing short of greatness here on Earth. There were three of the greatest song writers in the world in the Beatles but there were only two with massive egos and personalities and I'm sure you can guess which two. But I love them all equally.
Poor George! On his death bed, his doctor got George to sign George's own guitar...and then STOLE the guitar in much the same way George stole the Chiffon's "He's So Fine" to make "My Sweet Lord". Or, maybe George's THROAT CANCER was his SWEET LORD'S punishment? Now, wait...George smoked himself to death. Humph! Where WAS George's "sweet lord"?
@FrlghtWolf Just stop. Seriously. I think you need help. No joke. Why must you troll on every little thing that envolves George? Your picking on and creating lies about someone that has passed. WTF has he ever done to your sorry ass? Seriously. GET A LIFE AND STOP DOING THIS TO A MAN WHO IS LOVED.
@georgeharrisonlover5 - lol Did you REALLY say "get a life"? My goodness, isn't that a worn out cliche? A lack of imagination? A struggle to find words? Little wonder you're a George Harrison fan. He suffered from the same problem. Hey, do YOU smoke cigarettes? Can we assume you'll go the way of George Harrison? cough! Cough! Ack!
@FrlghtWolf wow. at least im not a old man living in my moms basement still. do you really think i give a crap about how i spell, you piece of crap. seriously you need help. all you want to do is cause problems. well i have faught back because you offend george Harrison, my idol but now i'm done, i realize how much of a waste of time you are, and i can really care less what you say about me, just don't go around offending other people you dont even know.

@FrlghtWolf An anagram is a type of word play, the result of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to produce a new word or phrase, using all the original letters exactly once; e.g., orchestra = carthorse. Any word or phrase that exactly reproduces the letters in another order is an anagram. However, the goal of serious or skilled anagrammatists is to produce anagrams that in some way reflect or comment on the subject. Youre a douche, go back under your bridge troll..you're too easy
@FrlghtWolf Are you for real dude, thats the definition copied and pasted..explain to me how carthorse is an anagram for orchestra but Mr. Mojo Risin isn't? youre a douche and you're just flat out wrong and you look stupid, at least if you're gonna troll dont make a damn fool of yourself in the process
My impersonation of GEORGE HARRISON's guitar playing on "Here, There and Everywhere":

To lead a better life, I need my love to be here;

Here, (PLANK!) making each day of the year (PLANK!) Changing my life (PLANK!) with the wave of her hand (PLANK!). Nobody can deny (PLANK!) that there's (PLANK!) something there! (PLANK!)

@asullivan00 Agree with you 100%! As a matter of fact I met George in 1986, he came into a club I was working in, I was a kid, girls were throwing themselves at him, he ignored them & focused on me, we discussed Paul, because I told him my b-day & asked him if it was familiar, along with the fact I was a lefty, he talked about his very deep relationship with Paul, & that is was so deep there weren't proper words to describe How close they were. He was a proper gentleman & is truly missed.
@asullivan00 The name of the group George was in later was the Travelling Wilburys. It's pronounced the way you have it written just spelled a tad different. I'm not attacking you in any way, shape or form. Just merely making an observation.
@asullivan00 You are so right about George. He was a major musical influence on generations of guitaristssongwriters and of course performers. Georges slide guitar, which goes unspoken of compared to the sitar, is a game changer in R&R. Possibly even more than Duane Allman. His sound and technique is completely his and unmistakable! Selfishly, it is very sad to lose such a talent, for his family very sad to lose such a beautiful soul. I pray for Olivia and Dhani often.
George Harrison died? Heck, I knew John Lennon died. I would know if Paul McCartney died...but George? I wonder why I didn't hear anything. I guess it would be a lot like Davy Jones of the Monkees dying. Who would care?

"...when I heard that Martin Scorsese is doing a film on George..." U make this statement in Ur video caption like there is an obvious connection that we're all supposed to C. I don't know if U used 2 bend over 4 Martin but it has nothing 2 do with me??? I don't get that part. Honestly u are a jerk with some type of self esteem and/or acceptance issues. sorry about your mom but this video has nothing to do with george or 9-11. Its just crappy pics with a crappier song we must endure...jerk!!
Three significant events happened in the last three months of 2001 -- the twin towers, my mother's death, and the death of George. I can't separate them in my overall reaction
@asullivan00 you can,t compare 9|11 to the death of one person, i am a big fan of georges but 9|11 was something else it was just unreal.but i suppose if your comparing them because of your personal reactions to them then thats fine.
@utoopija Unfortunately me. I did it on a portable cassette player with no headphones or other equipment. I do a better version for open mics these days, but I decided not to change the video
@utoopija Unfortunately me. I did it on a portable cassette player with no headphones or other equipment. I do a better version for open mics these days, but I decided not to change the video
@asullivan00 thats really good mate, you have an interesting voice that would have fit in well in the 60's/70's, unfourtanetly today you need to auto-tune your voice to be successful for some reason
@maxsuperdudeisawesom It wouldn't because all Georges family, including both his parents, have been rocked by cancer. He may have had fame and wealth but he must have also known he had a death sentence when his mum and dad died of cancer. I think his brother had it, and his sisters two sons also died from cancer. I dont know how many of them smoked, but I reckon george didnt care, he knew he'd get it anyway. Cheers.
I love The Beatles. I wish I was alive back then... George was my favorite Beatle. He spoke the most wisdom and truth that was happening in the world. Although I do love the others too. George is just barely my favorite Beatle.
I remember I was about 6 when this happened. My sister loved George Harrison, and told me about it. I was so so so sad, and I cried on and on forever. I was always in love with the beatles.
I was only 7 when George died i remember my mom comeing and telling me that he was gone and with John and god now. i remember crying my eyes out i have been a Beatle fan for as long as i can remember. I hate that never got a chanse to meet George of John. . . . . . R.I.P John and Geirge we will always remember you. .
The Song is"The Art of Dying". George you will be remembered as the 'Spiritual' Beatle; you were a Great devotee of God and will be forever in our hearts!
@bala1081 Devotee of God? I have done some research on Harrision. Born and raised in a Catholic family, He was very active in his spiritual life. However, Harrision later became currious about the Hindu religion after a shot on the set of "I am the Walrus". Harrision later died in 2001, Being laid to rest by a Hindu funeral. Now don't get me wrong, I am a Christian, But we will not know untill we expirence "The art of dying".
@WeFoundFilm well... think positive!i cry all the time wen i hear about these deaths of my favorite artists like the beatles and micheal jackson.... im only 12... wen i was 8 and i read that john died i kept crying the whole day. i loved him soo much and i wanted to c the beatles play they were my fav band and they still r.... :_(
@StrawberryTheCuteCat, hey, I understand. There´s nothing wrong with loving the Beatles and loving Michael Jackson as well. I am 39 and I cry sometimes over their deaths. Hugs! Love you...
since 9/11 it feels that the beatles songs have grown more popular not to mention that george harrison died 2 months after thisno matter where John Lennon or George Harrison is it will remain the same we cant go back and relive those days that our men of peace had died we will still keep them in our minds
I always repeat what other people tell me even lies and bullshit...what wrong have I done> as for thee er...acrobatics you've mentioned...only cos' I'm a YOGI I can do that you know...
@PoireauMan68 How can you type with your head up your ASS?? That is the worst comment I have ever read. You only know what other people tell you. Obviously you have been lied to.

I wish I lived back in the 60's or 70's. It seems nowadays music has gone to crap and no-one is capable of having a taste of music and accept anything that is popular. I wish I could have seen George. At least I got to see Paul Mccartney a few weeks ago.
For some reason every Friday night I listen to George's music. It is my favourite part of the week. I know, it's weird.
I just want to say, I salute George and all of his fans.
I was born in 1960 and so i was very young when the Beatles were famous. Ur comments made me think I had this thought yesterday. I am still amazed at the fame of the Beatles back in the mid 60's. (I had 4 older siblings so they got me into the Beatles when I was 6-7.) What I find so astonishing is how popular they were. It was as if they were aliens from another planet. Even kings and queens and famous muscians around the world were in awe of them. Nothing will ever compare. It was remarkable!
(cont'd) I was thinking about is how when their albums were released. Like Sgt Peppers, White Album, Abbey Road and Let It Be. People like Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan would send one of their cronnies to the nearest record store and buy a handful for themselves and friends on the first day those albums were released. (It was as if you wanted to be there when Einstein published his next theory). Music was going through a remarkable transformation with every album they released. Nothing compares!
29th of November 2001. The saddest day of my Year. George shouldnt of passed, but he did. All because of Ciggaretts. I should really stop smokin myself.
Škoda že tu George nemůže být i dneska :-( :-(

@derf123hey - George admitted in court that he had intentions
of doing a cover of the popular Chiffon's single "He's So Fine".
It was one of George's favorites and so it is highly unlikely he
"unintentionally" PLAGIARIZED it. His high profile Beatle fame
and his DEEP POCKETS probably was responsible for him
getting sued but it also saved him. Starstruck and sentimental,
the judge didn't see fit to further embarrass the hapless ex-Beatle.
He called it "unintentional" and winked at George!

@rf3811 - You need to watch the Youtube video titled:
"George Harrison Talks About Paul McCartney". In it,
you will see something quite disturbing. George was
never all that "spiritual" and he certainly was NEVER
"quiet". He spent the rest of his life rather bitter at George
Martin, The Beatles, the music critics and the general
public for NOT giving his music the attention HE thought
it deserved. This video shows what I think is the REAL
George Harrison: petty and small.

@bonsaimolly - Look, I liked George. I liked Ringo too! But I wouldn't
confuse either of them for great musicians. Even though George
contributed 2 or 3 great songs to the Beatle catalogue, his was a
SUPPORTING role. Case in point, on the anniversary of John's death
came, the media was saturated with news stories, documentaries and
radio shows dedicated to John. Not the Beatles, John. Why is there
nothing for George? On the anniversary of his death, there is barely a
whisper! Why is that?
FrlghtWolf 1 year ago
@FrlghtWolf I think probably because John was gone so suddenly. With George, they knew he had cancer and that he was dying, so they got to tell him what they wanted to and got to say goodbye. @mejasourus - To be sure John's assassination made his
passing more profound. Still, it's a stretch trying to imagine
the same world reaction had George passed the same way.
In fact, he very nearly was! George was a nice guy. He made
2 or 3 really good songs. His voice blended well with the others. He was a good soldier and he did what he was told,
but he was NO John Lennon. I just dislike all this myth-making
on George's videos. It's not enough that George was a Beatle.

Why Do You Have The Twin Towers In There??
PaulisWilliam 1 year ago
@PaulisWilliam
Three significant events happened in the last three months of 2001 -- the twin towers, my mother's death, and the death of George. I can't separate them in my overall reaction
asullivan00 1 year ago
@asullivan00 Ture, P.S. God Bless George Harrison, And Everyone Who Lost There Life On 9-1-1.
PaulisWilliam 1 year ago
@asullivan00 9/11 happened in September, there are three months after September so don't you mean the last four months, not the last three.
videomaster54321 1 year ago
@asullivan00 you can,t compare 9|11 to the death of one person, i am a big fan of georges but 9|11 was something else it was just unreal.but i suppose if your comparing them because of your personal reactions to them then thats fine.

@asullivan00 thats really good mate, you have an interesting voice that would have fit in well in the 60's/70's, unfourtanetly today you need to auto-tune your voice to be successful for some reason

@clas78690 Sorry but George had Cancer.
I guess you could try to tell all of them not to start smoking but that probably won't work.
We all love you John and George.
RIP
maxsuperdudeisawesom 1 year ago
@maxsuperdudeisawesom It wouldn't because all Georges family, including both his parents, have been rocked by cancer. He may have had fame and wealth but he must have also known he had a death sentence when his mum and dad died of cancer. I think his brother had it, and his sisters two sons also died from cancer. I dont know how many of them smoked, but I reckon george didnt care, he knew he'd get it anyway. Cheers.

im assuming your asking how Geroge and John Died? John was murdered in new york city and George had cancer.

@MrDrummerboy3 And if you believe the 'Paul Is Dead' crap, suposedly Paul was killed in a car crash in 1966 and was replaced by a look alike.

The Song is"The Art of Dying". George you will be remembered as the 'Spiritual' Beatle; you were a Great devotee of God and will be forever in our hearts!
bala1081 1 year ago
@bala1081 Devotee of God? I have done some research on Harrision. Born and raised in a Catholic family, He was very active in his spiritual life. However, Harrision later became currious about the Hindu religion after a shot on the set of "I am the Walrus". Harrision later died in 2001, Being laid to rest by a Hindu funeral. Now don't get me wrong, I am a Christian, But we will not know untill we expirence "The art of dying".

MajorHalman 2 years ago
I was born in 1960 and so i was very young when the Beatles were famous. Ur comments made me think I had this thought yesterday. I am still amazed at the fame of the Beatles back in the mid 60's. (I had 4 older siblings so they got me into the Beatles when I was 6-7.) What I find so astonishing is how popular they were. It was as if they were aliens from another planet. Even kings and queens and famous muscians around the world were in awe of them. Nothing will ever compare. It was remarkable!
Cldfsn0200 2 years ago
(cont'd) I was thinking about is how when their albums were released. Like Sgt Peppers, White Album, Abbey Road and Let It Be. People like Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan would send one of their cronnies to the nearest record store and buy a handful for themselves and friends on the first day those albums were released. (It was as if you wanted to be there when Einstein published his next theory). Music was going through a remarkable transformation with every album they released. Nothing compares!
