It is interesting to notice the huge stresses on the whole car.

The windshield distorts with air pressure.

Everthing happens at "warp speed" and I always marvel at how the driver has time to shift gears, correct the steering and open the 'chute in such at short time at such speed!

I will say...being a driver myself all drivers do things differently....but why is it she is using her whole hand to shift? I think I would personally just use my thumb. It would seem doing it her way it would be easier to lose control or get behind on the steering....I mean...the buttons shouldn't be that hard to push where it would require your whole hand pressure to activate....

If you've seen Ashley in person, she's pretty petite. Depending on how stiff the gears are she might need to get her whole hand behind it. If it works for her then that's all that matters.
