  • I've heard that it's supposed to be pronounced, "MOL-ay-SKEE-nay", but really I don't think it matters what you call it, as long as it is understood that you are talking about the little black leather-bound book with the strap. To-may-to, to-mah-to, right?

  • ugly ass bag

  • I pronounce it "mole skine", with the "skine" pronounced like "wine". I do this because I believe it's the right thing to do, and nobody can tell me differently... NOBODY!

  • Jesus christ. That is a great notebook...

    for me to poop on.

  • Can you tell me which pens he uses to write on covers?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I dont know....that bag looks cool but I really dont think Id spend money on something like that....on the other hand, I do go through a moleskine at least one a month....

  • I hate those people. Who do you think you are? I spend a ton of money on BS that I through away after a week but I hate buying hyper-overpriced stuff which is not even useful. If I do spend $30 for a pocket notepad I will have to get some pretty good pockets cause that thing is heavy. Not to mention that I can get the same notepad for $1 or if I want something fancy - $2. Yeah right I'd pay $180 for some bag from an unknown brand when I can get an adidas or a nike or oakley for waaaay less.

  • @kotapaka well let me ask you something, where are those adidas and nike brand bags most likely to be made? china? some other country? rickshaw bags are made in the US.

  • @akaKhanh Where do you prefer the machine to make the bag - china or US? What? You think that those bags are made by humans? The whole process is automated with very little human assistance. So it doesn't really matter where you make the product. What matters is who designed the production process, the materials etc. Before you open your mouth learn some engineering and economics. Cause these people just make you believe that you are paying for something better.

  • @akaKhanh Some products are even made in the same factory (i.e. same products). Then some of them get a brandname say addidas stamped and the rest get some other brand name stamped. Then they are sold for different prices because some people can make you believe certain brands are better. Why do you think some companies own completely different brand names? Save you money. What companies what is to make you spend, spend spend. And they do that by convincing you that you need something.

  • actually if you buy them in bulk you can get those pens in about ten different colors. i've used pink, purple, light blue, sea green, etc.

  • I find that using a flair pen works great. There isn't any bleeding.

  • how much is one of those bags??/

i want one soo bad they look soo cool

  • I found their website and the prices depends on the model and size. Expect to pay between $120 and $180 (plus shipping).

  • you just don't understand

  • wow! Those bags look really cool! I might have to invest in one :D

  • im thinking of getting on,e but i dont know what to put in it,.

  • What type of pen do you use? If you use a fountain pen... DO NOT GET IT. Their paper quality is so inconsistent, but it takes a fountain pen to uncover the inconsistencies. If you use a fountain pen use Piccadilly notebooks, clairefontaine, rhodia, or even Markings.

  • for fountain pens, you can use the moleskine sketch books. they have thick paper meant for fountain pens

  • Really? I'll try one.

  • I agree, I used to use the plain/ruled notebooks but I like the Pilot Gel pen and it shows through a little, so I switched to the large sketchbooks when I saw Mark's video as I think his are the sketchbooks. Less pages but worth it.

  • Its pronounced Mole-ah-skeen-a

How can you be an "enthusiast" and not know that? Its fine if you just use them as a notebook, or sketchbook, and don't care about the company. Thats normal. If, however, you're going to call yourself an "enthusiast", try to pronounce the company name right.

These are always the same Hippy Liberal Douches who would get all offended if someone mispronounced the name of a wine... but they're running around like a redneck screaming about their "Mole-Skin".

  • I think we're all just fine with calling it a moal-skin. Pronunciation of a word does nothing to define a product, what counts is the value it brings to people, this person clearly adores his book, and that's important. I won't dabble in the hypocrisy from your comment, just know that it's there.

  • I'm a hypocrite because I think its reasonable, for someone who claims their an enthusiast, to pronounce the product name correctly?

You can call them "moal-skins" if you want. Thats fine. I don't care.

Just understand that you're wrong. You're very wrong. Thats in no way the pronunciation of the companies name.

How is that a hypocritical statement?

Do you know what the word "hypocrisy" means?

  • "These are always the same Hippy Liberal Douches who would get all offended if someone mispronounced the name of a wine..."

You're right. It may not be so much as hypocrisy as it is is absurdity. You have literally just called yourself a "Hippy Liberal Douche" because you clearly got overly offended by this gentleman's pronunciation.

Also, rarely do rednecks travel to Hong Kong to engage in business. But they might make videos of themselves shaving their head ;)

  • I want your bag O:

  • Proto-Blogging FTW!

  • nice vid

  • wow , cool , nice bag ! i love it , and i love that moleskine journal sweet

  • I just checked out the rickshaw website and the bags are awesome! I'll be keeping an eye out for them. A little pricey but you get what you pay for and they definitely look like they're worth it! I appreciate the thought that has gone into the design.

  • It's pronounced "Mole-a-skeen-a"

  • awesome bag idea. what kind of adhesive do you use to paste stuff in your moleskine?

  • Very interesting note about the pen. I don't fly much.

  • GREAT idea Mark! Good luck with your project. I am going to be watching for it. Love your idea's. Continued success Mark!!!

    Jeff
