Something I haven't been able to figure out yet, what stats do you look at to see if one item is better than an other? By that I mean the base stats. Is it a higher or lower item rating?
Probably you know this already, but you can set on the preferences to see the detailed stats for all the mods in the item sheet, so it is much easier to compare. For example, you can see exactly how much endurance or willpower has the equipped hilt, to compare it to a new hilt that you may buy.
Reading about this system made me slightly confused, so thank you for this guide, it really cleared it all up :)
About the colour crystals - I see that they also add enhancements. Are certain enhancements tied to certain colours, or can you get the same enhancements with different colours? I'm asking this because I want my lightsaber to be purple, so I hope I don't have to change the colour to get better stats :)
@Marchangsje001 They are usually quest items and are purely aesthetic items, that are super modable. So they're just there to look cool, and be modded, so you can basically keep them til endgame.
Sweet, thank you for posting this! It really cleared alot of my doubts about the whole lack of appearance/not being able to use the gear i like the best.
@lunarfault no, orange items are customizable varients of in game modeled items- that have no inherent stats thus allowing you to customize your look through stat filled attachment items. Think gems from WoW, but they're super gems. The items themselves give you nothing, the gems add 4000 armor +45 aim, +45 endurance and so on. I realize you probably know this now that the game has launched however others might not yet.
@Feedmelols if you skip everything and you don't take your sweet time getting from point A to point B, it'll definitely feel short. Last weekend beta, 11/25 one, it took me 3 days to get to 26 after skipping almost every dialogue. The final beta took me almost 7 hours, with 5 min breaks in between each hour to stretch, not skipping every dialogue to get to level 11. If you take your time to enjoy the game you'd get a better experience, but if you just blaze through it, it'll get boring like Cata
lol why did he put the light saber on his back XD at 3:33

Can I change the gem color of the light saber? I really like purple. I used purple in KOTOR; I'd like to keep using purple.

I like that Orange items grow with you... nothing like getting something in an MMO that you really like but you outgrow it in a few weeks. :P
