I think any typical action movie actor would turn this movie in that... a very common action movie. They should develop the first two books into movies. (by Raymond Benson) They're amazing, with great plots, kick-ass action, humour and incredible characters. They make Sam seem human with real emotions. Still by far the best books I've ever read.

As for the right actor... Maybe Scott Adkins ("Undisputed" series).

I don't know if its possible to find "Mr. Right". Sam Fisher is a legend and seems to be the only one to fit the bill.

I guess its up to Hollywood. (Don't screw it up!) ;)

My last comment about this topic, 1 of the gameinformer magazines i have states Splinter Cell Conviction was inspired by MGS itself. Now MGS 4 has won a lot of game of the year awards mostly because of its story-telling and graphics. It was also awarded best PS3 game. IGN stated that MGS 4 was the best game ever made and still the list goes on. When a game has won a lot of awards from all the websites and magazines, that is a great game. Splinter Cell hasn't won many, it has but not much as MGS.

Sad thing about the movie is that it would tend to make things more personal than they need to be, just like the games. I mean, the first 3 games were amazing. When it got to Double Agent it started to try and bring things to a more personal level. It conflicts with Sam's attitude...I mean, a little is good, but when you go from a storyline about terrorists trying to obtain an algorithm to Sam trying to find his daughter, it gets a little awkward. It's not bad, just awkward.

I really don't know which I like more...Metal Gear has amazing storylines, but Splinter Cell is so grounded in reality, with even more tense gameplay.
