in my opinion this film is completely different from the punisher...although they have a similar plot, Bacons character makes matters worse where as in the punisher castle can't make things worse if that makes sense. The fact that Bacons character didn't need to kill the brother he did it outta vengence where as in punisher the dude dies by accident. But i understand where your comming from

I think Death Sentence was horrible underrated. It was such a great film, and Kevin Bacon was really good, as always. Its a shame that people can't get past Saw, and thats why James Wan's movies will never be taken seriously. :( It doesn't bother me, but so many people label his new movies as "saw with this" or "saw with that". The "critics" will always dislike his movies. Even if they are Oscar worthy.
