Great job guys! Good to see young people enjoying music i listened to waaay back when i was young. If we all learn the lesson of this song, we will turn out all right. Keep growing up in Him!
haha, we had meant to make the whole music video, but i didn't get enough footage. and we ended up just dropping the whole thing. i put together what i had, and for the spaces that i had no footage, i just put lalalalalal or dead air. lol. thanks for watching.
um i really like that song but i tried looking for it on iTunes and i couldn't find it.would it be all right if you can send me the song? ill send you my e-MAIL address if you agree, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Nope. Not kidding. I was with a Christian band in the 70s called Selah (not the current Selah). I wrote it for that group. We performed it in our concerts for a couple of years. Then the group disbanded in 78. Amy picked it up around 83 for her Age to Age album.
No other songs. Here's how Fat Baby got to Amy. After Selah broke up, a friend of ours recorded it at Gaither's studio in Indiana. Gary McSpadden heard it there and asked Steve Millikan (my co-writer) and me to sign the song. I suggested he approach Amy, who told me years later that she had been praying for an "Andrews Sisters type novelty song" for her upcoming Age to Age album. About then Gary walked in with Fat Baby.
Rod, it is an honor to meet the man who wrote this tune, well, not meet but close enough;-) i have had Fat Baby stuck in my head for thirty years, thank you very much! I do love it and have always sung it to my Christian friends whenever they were acting like babies; i've sung it to myself alot as well. There's nothing like hearing Truth along with a catchy beat. I would have liked hearing Selah perform it. Thanks for these lyrics; they are timeless to me. Let Peace rule, kevin
Thanks Kevin. Our guitarist from Selah and I are trying to pull together some of our unreleased sessions and put out a CD. Mostly for family and friends and something to hand down to the kids and grandkids. He was able to find the Fat Baby session that was recorded in about 78. Amy picked up the tune in 83, so this one pre-dates the better known version. I'll try to remember to let you know if and when it comes out.

Enjoyed watching your video. I wrote the lyrics to Fat Baby back in the 70s. What a kick to see your interpretation.
