Don't I need to have a speaker enclosure so that the sound goes only forward not into the wall?

wouldn't in-wall speakers destroy the walls? I mean wouldn't they shake the walls and eventually crack them?

@JEFFTHEWRIGHT No way, the only speaker that could possibly do that would be the sub-woofer....the other speakers simple dont have that much low frequency sound. They are more for detailed dialogue, they DO have in wall subs, but I dont recommend those.

Do you have a vid of just the center speaker install? The problem i'm having is the studs are 16 in apart and the speaker is 18.5 in. The center is a dual 6.5 with a tweeter in the middle. I am new to home audio and this will be my first try at in install. Luckily the room is on the second floor and I can get to the ceiling from my attic to run my wires. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That isn’t quite accurate the centre also carries sound effects and music or differences in the music of Dolby 6track mix. The LCR should be placed at the same height level otherwise dialogue panning will not match as it was crated on the dubbing stage. It would start at the bottom of C and move shift upwards to L or R, it should travel horizontally as it has been done for decades in professional cinema.

That room should have had micro super perforated screen installed if someone can afforded in-wall speakers. Surrounds can be fitted in arrays to create a purpose defused surround without THX being used.

5.1 7.1 has been misunderstood in the home cinema community for decades. I use up x12 surround in 15 foot room to surround and wildly take me into the action at half the cost of x2 dipolar speakers.
