This is the RW coach that is the "common said" 1st class in sleeping trains. Actually as correctly @wjssz said, is the 19t (and not the 25) the real first class with only 2 bed and private bathroom. but i think exist only in the beijing or shanghai jiulong (kowloon) train..
I've heard about some other ultra luxury sleeping on the new D trains, but never seen.
G trains have 4 classes and they have some VIP that cost 1500 on the SH - BJ line, but they ae not sleeping as well.
Ya I agree with some of the comments here. This is definitely not first class cabin or what is known as 头等车 . I have seen first class cabin train in China, and it is much more spacious. It's just an overnight sleeper bed, like the type I slept on when I was travelling overnight on TGV (or was it some other train can't remember) from Paris to Munich.
I have done this those were some very hard beds but I was on a nicer version of this called the Sheng Ra La Orient express basiclly this but with wood grain walls and red curtins and items like that but this was the style of accomidation we had bacis plugs and a coal buring boiler at the end of the car for heat we at least had a full shower that was nice the toilets were a bit primative but the trip was interesting
Maybe you are right because I have never travelled in luxurious coaches in China, but among the standard train classes the one showed in the video is the best class.
A trip, for instance, from Beijing to Shanghai in soft sleeper costs around USD 45 and in soft seat is USD 24, almost twice but for a long journey it is worth paying it for a trip that takes from 10 to 15 hours depending on the train.
Do you know of an website where I can book these trains at? Preferrably in English. That would be very helpful, as I'm trying to get to Shanghai from Hong Kong in a couple of weeks.
Having travelled around 25000 km all over China I have never seen the coaches you mention, but next time I will try to make a trip in such trains. It should be a great experience.
This is not first class. It most likely equals to business class. The first class compartment includes a independent bathroom and this kind of coach only services on limited routes between major cities
Chinese first class is RW19T.. includes independent bathroom and 2 beds in each small room..You can find this coach in all Z-series and some T-series express train.
china and india both are same,
china all ready launch high-speed train,
india launch it in 2015 !

"Soft bed", but not the best
probably this is 25t, not 19t

Does not look like a typical Chinese first class coach (Tou Deng Che) to me. Probablly just a high standard sleeping coach (Wo Pu).
