The reel is pretty full - okay - every fisherman-shop in germany can do it THAT way so whats that special on that one - we do got 3000meter rolls here - and some guys here do it even faster...
That is the worst spool I've ever seen lined. You guys must not fish. It is way over filled.. Have fun with line twist and unwanted unravels hahahaha good day
Braid can pack down up to ten per cent on the first drop after spooling, simply due to water displacing air between the coils. Keep your trap shut on subjects you know nothing about.
@HATINTHEKAT is that what your goal is when your fishing? to feel the full strength? you must be the same guy who locks down his drag and tears and pulls hooks from fish. I'm saying braided line is for pussies because the buy it and use it thinking they get some huge advantage when they really don't. Don't want stretch in your line? Use fluorocarbon. Worried about running out of line? Use good tackle and set your drag correctly. Braided line is hugely inconvenient and bad for your tackle.
@richdalphone fuckin idiot, feeling the strength of the fish is purely for fun, why catch 1lb bass if you can catch a 5lb+ bass? plus it does have a huge advantage in some aspects of fishing, the no stretch means that it is way more sensitive than mono when you have alot of line out, shallow water it might not make a difference but deep jigging or bottom fishing , that stretch with help you feel the bite, unlike mono which will stretch before you feel anything,
@richdalphone and fluoro does stech, not as much as mono, but it does stretch, thats why its commonly used as a shock leader, and who said im worrying about line capacity? dont throw shit into an argument to boost your opinion when it doesnt even relate,
@curtgowdysharkhunter Well it looks just like spooling a normal spinning reel exept he puts more line on, you always pack the line as tight as possible
@curtgowdysharkhunter Oh well, when i spool line on a reel, i get a spare spool from another reel and put onto it first and put the drag on så that it packs very tight
we jig to depths of 400M i guess thats 1200+ft, ctaching species you wouldnt have heard of. im assuming your american and believe your the only country on the planet...
I would love to see how well this gentleman would fill a spool with something like PE 0.4 to PE 1. Specifically for "spinning".
Being that much lighter and more easily damaged.
This is in no way criticism as I have more than learned that just because it is different to how I do something, it doesn't automatically make it wrong or "not gonna work". Japanese are VERY specific in their fishing styles, tackle and approaches. Everything being made into an art form!
First 7 seconds or so, shows the line as YGK's Ultra Castman X8. Label looks like it says 36kilos when enlarged, but that is purely a guess as its fuzzy
Sorry for the mis-understanding, i am familiar with the line, but I was curious to know what machine he was using to spool the line and to know where can one be found and even the price... there arent many line winding machines on the market and the few that are there are overly expensive so that was the reason that i asked... Any ifo would be helpful thanks...
My apologies mate. Mis-read the question. I would imagine that its little more than a converted lathe. The foot pedal control can be bought for a few dollars from eBay , as a tattoo accessory.
A lathe on the other hand is going to be serious money. I have always found my laid lays best if the spool is simply placed in a sink full of water and wound on under tension. You can use a towel like in the video to keep it tight, but if its not damp - wet, then the braid will suffer.
@MrTatts64 good idea my friend... here in the states there are always lathes going on sale for cheap so I will look out for one to see how I can modify it... I have though about creating some mods for my rod wrapper to accommodate this line winder but when it comes to that I am at a lost of creativity... Where are you located??
Keep the same mind set as you would with your rod wrapper though. You need to think "light". You dnt want something that will be all too easy to warp the metal of the spool - or if plastic, carbon or kevlar, shatter it.. You only need to grip the spool enough to be able to spool it. You would possibly find the use of some rubber layer between the lathe and your spools a benefit. It would be a sacrificial thing, slowly wearing out.
@MrTatts64 I totally agree my friend... My wife is an engineer( she has her masters and bachelors in electrical engineering) but the fact of the matter is that she has to deal with mechanical engineers and people with machine shops, so all I have to do is foot an idea.. also after doing much research last night I have sourced many parts that i can use to create one... Thanks for all the helpful info pal...
lol u guys are retarded....A it was a wet towel....B. that amount of line is best for jigging.....if u were casting..id agree thats wat tooo much....but no...everyone over looks wat was sed in the vid.....keyboard samurai's !!!!
color changes indicates how much line you have out (depth)...usually 10 meters per.
I am also surprised "the professional" used 3 spools. If it is for jigging it should come in high capacity spools. Having en extra two knots on a 300 meter line basically quarters the breaking strength of the line. definitely not the correct way to do it
IVE NEVER SEEN LINE LIKE THAT I GUESS BECAUSE I DONT DO MUCH JIGGING. BUT WHAT I AM WANTING TO KNOW IS HOW COME LIKE IN SOME SPOTS ITS RED AND SOME SPOTS IS DARK BLUE?
5t00g3 when you spool you want the line coming off the spool that you bought the same way your reel spool is turn he has done this just right maybe a little over filled but he will not get line twists this way.
Its funny how you make it sound like its precision engineering when all he's doing is spooling. The tackle shops here all spool it the way he's doing it, nothing really Professional.
Jigging does not require casting so I guess MAYBE it is not over filled, but if the line is even with the spool, line will fall off and really mess things up. Since you are not casting you can not get line falling off, but I would still want a bit of lip on there. When fish hit they tend to run, and if not straight down you need lip near the end to keep the line from coming off when the fish closes on the boat.
i have a question for you fishermen.I want a reel that, if i look at it side on, bobs in and out as i turn the handle. The faster i turn the faster it bobs etc.I dont know the correct terrm for this action/reel.Any suggestions???
It's not for casting!! It's for jigging off a boat in about 100m of water... then when a large tuna or amberjack takes it you'll need to be ready for major line pull. So if say you had 150-200m you'd probably get spooled out VERY quickly.
its better to spool a reel with no machine because its excatly like reeling it in when your fishing just have one person put some tension on the spool having it come off the bottom and it goes on the reel perfectly
@BassAnglerMike33 wrong, a machine will put a high, constant pressure on the line, packing the spool with the most, tightest line possible. Especially important when spooling braid. Because the line likes to cut into itself when not spooled correctly.
if you put pressure on the spool of the line you get it perfect and i mostly only fish with mono so its fine with me. and look at the end when he takes it off the machine its not that perfect
why is it over filled? if he catches tuna and stuff they run so you need alot of line and lol the spooling on that when he says its perfect its not really that good look at the end how messed up it is
Trouble free...yeah until doofus drops more than 100 feet of line and reels back under no load. That reel will be knitting a braid sweater the first trip out.
Fail i agree, heat can damage that line. I didnt see him soak up something slippery. OVER fill obviously any fisherman would have said stop to much line.
Fail.... the heat from the braid comming off in such speed and the friction of the rag will cause " heat spots" giving the braid weaknesses.... But then i guess your experts... so you would know this
Did you make that up yourself? "heat spots"? Each millimeter of line is only touching the rag for milliseconds! There is no heat transfer to the line. You could hold a torch to the line at that speed. But then I gess your an expert.
thats actually not right thats just guessing you should spool the line with the reel instead to get the right kind of line wraping from the reel gears or watever
Its a good Idea to use a thin strip of electrical tape on the spool before you start to wind the line. The entire wad of line can slip and spin on the spool if it loses grip.
i just saw this video, i think you can't tight and loaded the spool of any kind spool, no matter it's convention or spinning if you're an angler. there's another way to load the spool to prevent the line cut in, w
@Tsurishopjapan every one is gonna bash... even i have to say... its a little over spooled, but no worries... the jap guy im sure overwelmed you... and was waiting for you to say stop... just taek out some line you'll loose eventually...
i kinnda like that reel... im thinkin about getting a shimano saragosa 4000.. you like or no? how is yours vs the saltwater...
Ok honestly I think you guys really have no idea what this reel is used for. It's for vertical jigging off boats. NO CASTING IS DONE. Most jigs are about 80-180 grams and the average depth is about 80 meters or less. (light game) So if you just spooled the reel with half you would be in serious trouble considering half is about 150m. This reel is can handle 300 of PE#3. Also overtime you will shorten this length when you retie leaders and what not.
