1st. Nuclear weapons have generally lower yields than they had in the 1960s. So frankly, you are wrong- 'nukes' are not more powerful now. in comparison to the era of the FB-111 (A bomber equiped with B61 bombs, which have the same yield today as the 1960s.

While USA working as the "world police" is not exactly ideal, the people of USA is much more free than the people of its enemies.

And yes, Bush Sr did help the Taliban back in the day because of the ideological war against communism. Which later enabled al-Qaeda to attack USA at 9/11. The irony is that, at that time in Afghanistan at that time, the old communist rule was less oppressive than the Taliban. Even so, neither one is ultimately desirable.

No, it's not happening because there is no proof. I want some solid evidence (that doesn't come from a bullshit conspiracy theorist site, by the way) that people are being plucked off the streets and shipped to Gitmo. A few pictures of some underground (and probably some above ground areas, too, like the plant growing facility) bunkers isn't enough to convince me.
