after racing sprint karts all i wanted to do was pilot one of these cars.I note that the front tyres seem to be over inflated as thecar is displaying one of the most awsome things to be seen in motor racing, have a look at the left front tyre and rim,the lateral and g force pressure distortes the tyre so that under centrical forces the tyre will contrct and expand on the rim making it look like the tyre is deflating ,Just an awsome example this illustrates.
do the race suits include anything special on them like extra protection for the open nature of the karts? What brand of kart do u recommend for starting out mittong?
Nope...just a normal leather suit. Akin to the old-school Motorbike suits.
If you're starting out, regardless of the brand, the most important thing is to have someone with EXPERIENCE helping you out. Any 2nd or 3rd hand kart, regardless of brand, is good to start with. ZIP Karts are very reliable chassis, but Stockman karts are also very popular and have enjoyed success.
we have these and olds villiers 210 karts and rotax twin cylinders, 2x125 cylinders in tandem.
the 125's and the 250cc were very unreliable, new piston and ring each meeting, new ring each race ideally or no power and pistons overheat when clearance gets to much so seize anyway!
I remember som blok saying £50-100,000 a year, not as bad as honda rs125-£20,000 for best cylinder/ engine and technician for 3 races to help 57bhp!!
did u know the top licences from cams in australia is a super kart licence...thats prety amazing i would have guesed that formula 3 being the fastest motorsport in austrlia on a track that would have been the top licence
Hey just from observing the vid.... by the way thought was a nice drive.... missed a few apexes but..... anyhoo.... final drive ratio looked a tad short.... what you think mittong?
Best way is to use a small hard drive camera with super steady shot, and to build a plastic clear box out of plexiglass (stuff used for boat windscreens) but make it 5mm too big in all dimensions and use the sponge from the inside of camera cases to remove the vibration. I cut the end off the box and use race tape to make a hinge, seal the thing up with race tape when the camera is inside. I use a camera where you can get a manual wired remote connector with a power on / off on steering wheel.
He isnt a bad driver....He is only 20 Years old and his Kart is an old one because he isnt rich....And its his First Superkart Season...By the Way, his Name is Yani Harpas.....

top speed of a superkart ranges from 130mph to 155mph

You seem to be drifting a lot. Is that really the fastest technique with these machines?
Also, aren't you worried you'll, like, run out of adrenaline or something?

There are about $5k - 10k a year to keep going through a season - depends on how many races and where. Lots of racing & 2 day meets - about 10k...
