The bucket is small so the operator doesn't have to worry about picking up rocks to big for the screener. If it wont fit in the bucket don't put it in the screener, it's a way to idiot proofing a job by the owner of the company!
@Kurisuchianu89 its what they had on it at the time since they trench with it, plus a larger bucket would over flow the screener and put rocks to large in it
twhats beats me is that it doesnt even have a quick coupler! to me thats kind of a waste unless the company bought the excavator just for this, but still then!
Quick couplers are nice. The construction company that my father works for owns 7 excavators and they all don't have quick couplers.. But they would maybe come in handy.....
basically every excavator in alberta has a quick coupler, its hard to find on without! some larger companys like Kidco or sureway dont have them on some of there but most of them still do

whys the bucket so small?
platapuz 2 years ago
So it doesn't overload the screener

@328DLCR Why simply just not use a larger bucket, but tipping slower? More fuel efficient..

Its a trenching bucket for doing utility lines or small street repairs. They probably didn't want to switch it out.

And it kept up with the screener perfectly
