  • Architects measure from the middle of the wall. Appraisers mearsure form the outside finish. Realtors meausure from the interior walls. Those differences can be big.

  • Jessica WOW! You are spot on, this happened to me almost exactly as you described. I put my house on the market in Oct 09, my agent told me she measured my home & apparently it shrank by 125 sqft. I measured it myself ( by the book, NC REC guidelines) & throughly documented my work, I came up with an even bigger disparity. When I asked to see her work to compare, she got mad & canned me on the spot!! You advice has been very helpful during my selling experience, Thanks
