They didn't lose Boyle to FA, they moved him to the Sharks for Ty Wishart (VERY happy about that) and Matt Carle, who (if he returns to form) is a cheaper, more defensively responsible version of Boyle. The D in Tampa will surprise next year cause they'll finally have a real defensive system. The season can't come soon enough.

doughty is not fat. he's an 18 year old kid who has never had to worry about his weight before as he plays 35 to 40 minutes a game. he's losing the weight because as a rookie he's not gonna play pronger/lidstrom type minutes. his weight is a non issue. by the way i've seen guelph games where he is the fastest on the ice easily. i wonder how fast he is now 20 lbs lighter.

Stamkos is soon to be on the Tampa Bay Lightning bc they locked up Dan Boyle on Defense and have a young defenseman in Mike Lundin who was in the young allstar game this year and Alexandre picard was solid once they got him. Stamkos will now be able to take brad richards spot in tampa and have Vinny Lecavalier as a mentor... NOT BAD! lightning could be good just need to figure out the goalie situation.
