@Rampage4720 Read the description you ignorant twat. I said it on the first line.
On the subject of ignorance, I guess you are also unaware that with WINE, things can change for the better or worse with each minor version update between it, the Linux distro, and the program in question.
People are getting it to work well now, mouse control and everything by compiling in a fix for it themselves (note the video reply).
@ShadowEater120880 DRM was never an issue, it was just the compatibility of WINE with the OnLive Windows program.
As of now, a problem is raw USB input, which stopped direct mouse control. Some people reported this working and there's some hack that's been around to make it work with older versions of WINE.
I'm not really booted into Linux enough for now, so I can't say how well each version of WINE works with the latest OnLive client.
I know there were issues with missing direct usb input, but maybe if you use a ps/2 mouse the OnLive program itself translates it. Give it a shot and let me(us) know.
I use a laptop without that interface, or I would've tried that myself.
@frigginjoe I just submitted a post on this a few days ago. It's working now, through the latest wine (1.3.27) and the latest client, wine has to patched and built from source though.
@Darkteammadfiz I can't say it's the best, nor do I really like the direction its taking as a distro, but I just happen to come from Debian so I liked having the core of that in a made-for-primetime package since its earlier days. It just happened to be what I install on machines, but I'm not a proponent of Ubuntu by any means.
@DashW0 Sound works fine, and if you raise the hell out of your volume you'll hear it.
I noticed how low it was captured but decided to the the video as is since I didn't disable pulseaudio beforehand so it was probably crackling here and there. Pulseaudio is a bit disliked :P
There's a raw input hack you can patch into the source before compiling wine, and someone said it worked. I didn't, but probably due to not enabling library subs.
Btw, Promo code THANKYOU for the game Amneisa, free. :D
@madjunir Yeah Wine will do the trick for me, I'm new but impressed by how well they've done with it.
I think a native Linux client will be mutually beneficial to Onlive and Linux, but Linux users are a group who can get things working if they have the option, and I'm thinking Wine's going to come first (or it will be the only option).
@TheUserUndefined No, not for me., Running the recording software or the capture itself seems to skip some frame or hang up the client a bit. Very smooth normally
@frigginjoe Sweet, cus this was the only thing I needed for me to finally convince myself to switch to linux. Btw what did you mean by "Sans DirectInput"? Sorry, I'm a real noob at this stuff...sometimes anyway.
@TheUserUndefined Don't switch just yet if Onlive is the factor, because sans means without. LOL.
Wine 1.3.19 doesn't *yet* support the raw input that 's needed to send to the Onlive server to control the games. The Menu system of Onlive and usually within games works differently than when the game is played and you need to directly control a character via mouse.
For the time being the functions to send raw input via Wine exist but haven't been programmed in.
@TheUserUndefined Hopefully. I can imagine it is coming in the not too distant future. I'm going to look into it myself if it doesn't come around, but I have a feeling that'll be filled in by current contributors to the project long before my work schedule eases up for me to look into it.
@CarsonGall0 There's still that mouse input glitch to work around, I'm looking around for info on possible fixes as I know mouse input has been one of the issues with wine, so some kind of override might fix it.
I'll submit a report towards WINE, hopefully others do.

Did this not work before? Is there not a lot of DRM to get around?

@ShadowEater120880 That's an interesting question.

I think Ubuntu is a very good distro for very beginners, but I also think that it is slow compared to some distros.

woa, the mouse input thing should become a priority for wine now.
having onlive and a good net connection really takes care of most of the gaming needs on linux.
am hoping for a native client someday but running it flawlessly in wine would be just as awesome!
