wow yesterday this happened to my friend he hit the car and his bike went under the car but he got it out he was more mad about his jeans getting ripped
interesting, but here in Australia, the car always has to give way to the cyclist rather than the cyclist overtaking towards the center of the road. It's different over in the US?
Hey mate im from Australia, they didnt say quite that, they said the motorist has to give way but didnt. You can overtake around a car here legally.
You say that the car has to give way to the cyclist, thats true, but how many times I have had this exact thing happen to me I cant count. The point is that here, in my town you just cant trust drivers, they treat you like crap.
You must be from one of the few towns/ cities in Australia where cyclists are treated half decently.
The cyclists here in Perth aren't treated all that well, I think. I've just got my L plates and I've been trying to get in the habit of checking for cyclists when turning left.
They said "this motorist is about to make a turn unlawfully", meaning that the car is supposed to give way, its about defensive cycling.
See below
I wish drivers did give way, properly, but there is enough of them out there that just dont give way, or worse, deliberatly try to intimidate you. As my below post says, im not sure where in Australia you are from, but our drivers are the worst IN THE WORLD.
A nuch safer way would be for the cyclist to ride in the traffic lane and avoid the bike land completely.

Anyway, safe cycling, and keep on doing it.

Is this staged cause it appears that the car driver knew the guy on the bike was there.
