@karla1nc In my opinion there is no need to compare Harry Potter and Lotr. It's stupid, the whole Lotr vs. HP thing has just began because they came out in the cinemas at the same time. I think both has a great story with loveable characters and the movies kinda stayed true to the books. I just love both, for different reasons so i could never say that this one is way better than the other. They are different so that's why there is no need to compare them. At least that's why i think.

Wow this was 8 years ago when there were barely any good movies. I think Peter Jackson blew everyone away when this was released. I know I was.

And then 8 years later, The Hobbit is announced. It is just so epic how people still want to see another one of these movies by the same director.

The whole LOTR series was a great Christmas present in all, and best of all, I got to sit through them 2 times each.

Almost 10 years later and no movies can even come close to the greatness of this trilogy. Avatar? No. Doesn't even compare. Nowhere near the epicness that LOTR was. The way you could care and connect to every single character, the way you felt like you were in the war with them, all the emotions and the excitement... I don't think I will ever experience that with any other movie for as long as I live.

Peter Jackson has created a series of movies that people will enjoy for a hundred years or more. Not many movies will be watched in 2103, but I bet this series will. Cannot wait for the Hobbit movies!

I love this film!!! I have the whole soundtrack on my MP3. And my parents have all the extended versions. My fave bit of the trailer is the begining when you hear Legolas's voice. Love you, Legolas.

It really annoys me that people dislike the Lord of the Rings trilogy just cause it doesn't follow the books, blah blah blah. Personally I've never read them yet but am about to start and I'm sure the books are great and very well written. But anyway, this is the best trilogy I've ever seen, extremely well done. I have to praise Peter Jackson for making these movies. Not sure if my girlfriends even like LOTR but it's a shame cause they are amazingly well done. I love these movies.
