Ok, you should not be keeping a hawk! One, it is illegal, two you have no clue what you are doing. The bird should be taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center. You don't ever tie a string around one leg, you also don't just let them perch on a wire cage. Please don't do that ever again unless you get a federal permit actually learn the correct way of taking care of a wild animal. You don't even know what was wrong with it, it must have an x ray to see if there are broken bones.
@xxdragonxriderxx As i said it was just hungry, i found it after a fire.. A vet checked for broken bones and stuff and he did said that needed to be taken to a rehabilitation center but no one would cover the cost of the transport. I fed it for 2 weeks and it was not tied for 3 days before it flew on its own...
wow.... don't you think this bird deserved falconry perch, anklets and jesses?? you should talked to some local falconer about taking care of the hawk... after two weeks with that kind of anklets he could have foot twice as big because of the swell. or just one leg seriously injured - coz you even didn't bother to make two anklets. two legs = two anklets.
sorry Ive criticized you. Its nice you took care about this hawk but you could do better job than that.
u never heard the story about the mouse. ill tell you how it goes. a lion caught a mouse and was gonna eat him, but the mouse begged for his life. So the lion said "fuck it" your too small anyways so ill let u go. the next day a hunter catches the lion in a big net..then comes the mouse and eats away at the net and sets the lion free! the mouse saved the big lion! hehehe...so the moral of the story is be nice to everybody, even a lil mouse!

That´s great he was ok after all... :) He was lucky your dad found him. How many mice did you give him when you fed him?
And... what actually was wrong with the hawk? If he got shot how did you fix it?

If it was survival of the fittest then by rights the hawk would be dead if not for your dad!! I am glad it is alive though, magnificent creature.

True!! But as it was proven later this hawk got shot from a shotgun. So it wasn't natures intention to kill it :-)
