it's amazing that after 20 years this is still the onyl 100m race ever with 6 men under 10 sec, even if the world record now is 0.28 sec faster. 6 of the 8 runners here are so close.
@StefanGentleman That race boasted 3 personal bests, 2 continental records AND the world record; Burrell even beat his old WR and STILL finished as runner-up.
Mind you, the fastest of the 8th-place runners ran 10.02s in Eugene (the race TAtD's comment links to), and before then it was 10.03s in the 2008 Olympic final, which itself is another '6/8 sub-10' race. If you include those than ran less than a hundredth below 10s, the 2009 World final was 7/8 (Darvis Patton the lone >10s in that race).
Even though they run faster times today, I still think that this is the greatest 100m race ever.

@5foot11dude It's also worth considering the following wind readings ('+' indicates a tailwind):
1991 World final: +1.2m/s
2008 Olypmic final: 0.0m/s
2009 World final: +0.9m/s
2011 Eugene race: +1.3m/s

Championship record lower than the World record?? Something wrong there...

@BandWagon1987 I could be wrong but from what I remember, I think that at CR can be wind-aided but a WR can not?

@BandWagon1987 that championship record was wind aided

Coleman calls it wrong again...
You don't happen to have the second round when Lewis ran a wind-assisted 9.80?
