@Horror1408 No offense, but have you ever found Reptile?! His name IS ALWAYS Scorpion on the lifebar. And furthermore, MK1 Reptile actually IS just basically Scorpion with the colors changed to green! That's kind of obvious, lol!
"In the original Mortal Kombat, when the player fought Reptile, the name in the health bar said 'Scorpion'. And if you performed Sub-Zero's Spine Rip Fatality on Reptile, when Sub-Zero held the head up it was the head of Scorpion and not Reptile." - source: MK WIKI
@MSfeller When I was a kid, I was only able to beat Reptile just a handful of times. I remember it was always at the bottom of the pit, but whenever I beat him, "Finish Him" would never show up, he would just die.Is this because I had the SNES version? I heard it was edited, and there was never any blood in my game, only what looked like gray spit. My friend had the Genesis Version and there was a blood code (a b a c a b b i think) but never could find one for my version
@idontWanaChannel Yeah, I grew up playing the SNES version at home when I couldn't afford the arcade. Nowadays I have all the versions with emulators. Yes, the Genesis version needs to have that code entered and then the blood and fatalities are allowed. There's no such thing for the SNES version, it's completely censored, edited and it's a shame they done so, but they paid a heavy price on sales for that too.
@MSfeller Good, as long as their profits suffered I feel a little bit better. They deserve worse for making a little kid think that everyone had grey hearts. I wasnt a big Kano fan after that discovery.
@idontWanaChannel Yeah, they lost a lot of money, that's why they went back on their policy and had MK2 with all the blood and gore afterwards. I reckon that in the end cash is more important than a company pretending to care about morals. I like Nintendo, but censoring MK is crap.
If you think about it, Kano's fatality on SNES he just pulls some chest hair - or if done on Sonya, he pretty much grabbed her boobs, she screams and then he looks up at his second base hand, proud!
@MSfeller hahaha Cop-a-feel-tality. Ya exactly. And its like Going to a rated R movie, but the theater Manually bleeps out bad words because they heard some kids might sneak in. I wouldnt stand for that annoying bleeping sound, I would walk out and ask for a refund.
@Horror1408 Some MK1 Reptile videos, all with the name Scorpion:
Arcade /watch?v=SlzPMaA3_ko
Sega CD /watch?v=JTeYj_uZ9tQ
PC /watch?v=a5JDGLtC060
The ONLY version that actually has the name "Reptile" properly written on his lifebar, is, ironically, the heavily altered and censored SNES version.
SNES /watch?v=JTeYj_uZ9tQ
This video is true. When I was a kid Reptile performed a Scorpion fatality on me (SNES), I remember well. Again, he IS Scorpion - just green plus Sub-Zero moves.
@TheSonicGod The soccer moms didn't prevent MK1 from having blood on the SNES. Nintendo had a strict family fun or something like that policy, so MK1 would not be released without the blood and fatalities edited out, however in MK2 in Japan it was censored by Nintendo again, except the blood was green and in fatalities (except stage fatalities) It went black and white. If you did a stage fatality on The Pit II, the fatality sign would just be green.
@pyrostreetlight1 I think you are the moron here, because Rayden is spelled with "Y", not "I" as you are saying. Raiden with "I" is from Metal Gear Solid series. If I were you I would choose better the videos where I would troll. So you failed hard. Have a nice day! ^^
You're both wrong. "Raiden's name is spelled Raiden in the arcade iterations of the Mortal Kombat games, and both Deadly Alliance and Deception. On the other home versions, his name is spelled Rayden. This was allegedly because of copyright issues as a shoot 'em up was named Raiden, or possibly to keep from confusing of Raiden from the Fatal Fury series, who was seen as a large wrestler. The console versions up until Mortal Kombat 4 changed the name to Rayden" - MK Wiki.
@MsBudtron It's the Genesis Mega Drive version, recorded with Camtasia studio. I haven't been introduced to other recording methods at this "age", that's the why is the recording quality is a little compromised. But I actually prefer Genesis ratherr than SNES. SNES' Mortal Kombat 1 sucks.
@barbaraericksen You just have to activate the blood code. When in the code screen, the one with a grey stone background, you just have to press A, B, A, C, A, B, B. If done correctly, Scorpion will say - Get over here! and the letters will turn red.
SNES version superior? I think you're confusing this for MK2, MK3, and UMK3. Those were the MK games that were superior to the Genesis version. I'll give you one hint as to why it's not that way with MK1. ABACABA
@Calibursoul Reptile has two fatalities: Sub-Zero one (Spine Rip) and Scorpion one (Fire Breath). The first to come was the Fire Breath, from Scorpion.
Believe...it isn't. He has both fatalities from Scorpio and Sub Zero as well. I enabled blood cheat, and if he would do a Sub Zero fatality he would rip the guy's spin off. And you can see Scorpion over his health bar...I noticed this glitch too...
No offense, but this isn't a RARE fatality...it's just Scorpion's fatality done by Reptile, that's it.

I ask because of the numbers in the lower left hand corner.
I have the Kega Fusion emulator & numbers were in the lower left hand corner til I disabled em.
