  • i love gretsch and not a big fan of tele but ur tele was better then the gretsch on this riff.

  • they all sound very similar but I like the tele. I just think it's clearer. great tone though.

  • Hey did TV Jones quit making Filter Trons all I see is Classic, Power, Super, & Magna trons on the web page...What would be the closest to the ones in you tele?

  • @tcroyal960 .............nevermind....

  • @tcroyal960 thats the gretsch name for pups..

  • Beautiful playing, where can I find those beginning notes to "All I want is You"? U2's music sheet starts off with chords or is this improvised? Great work!

  • By the way, regardless of your pristine sound, this is great, precise playing. It serves the musical text. And the fact that that text is, on face value simple, does not, as usual with Edge guitar lines, mean it is easy to render well. How many people can deliver the arpeggios of this song ascan be heard here? Not many, I should say.

  • Tele sounds great for this song. But I also like sound of Chet Atkins Gent. What strings do you use for Chet Atkins Gent? Thank you very much

  • The telecaster is definitely the best for this song. It has the edge you need in it. Plus that extra grittiness from the gretsch pickup. Amazing. I'd really like one for Christmas. :-)

  • Best telecaster ever! Great tone.

  • my vote would also b the falcon, seems to have more air.

  • Falcon does sound the fattest.

  • isn't that the famous Tele w Strat neck ??

  • Mick, Would you please tell us what effects and settings you used? I think you're using about 350ms Delay but I'm not sure about the rest.

  • @AntiRellik sure. I used one delay w mod block set to 469ms into a room reverb block on my M13 out from that to a 65 vox pacemaker. The reverb is very slight in the mix and almost sounds like a second delay. The delay is set around 80%rate and 10%depth and a high mix. I didnt touch a thing between guitars and tried to play the same way on all to give a proper comparison

  • i like the franke tele

  • All three sound good -- which is to be expected when you put three fine guitars in the hands of a good player. I don't think any of them sound particularly close to what's on the record, though. The record sounds like a Strat with the pickup selector in the 2nd or 4th position. As far as preference? I like the Falcon, then the Tele.

  • The Tele body looks like it came from a Schecter, would that be right Mick ?

  • To compare the guitars press 3,5 and 8 they will be almost at the same riff.

  • @EmpireAsus Sorry its 2,5 and 8

  • I give the edge slightly to the white falcon over the tele. Falcon gets bonus points for looks. Btw, what pick is that youre using and does it have dimples like the herdim?

  • All three sound fantastic really. I'm guessing the Tele is one of your primary gigging guitars along with the Strat and LP? That would cover all the sounds you could possibly need live.

  • I don't really know what to call it, but the Country Gent has a little "quack" type sound to it. I like it, very suttble. But I do agree with you, I like your Frankentele the best. :)

  • The Tele sounds like my Stratacoustic! The Gretch is the sexiest guitar ever - is this the same model as Edge? The Falcon sounds pretty responsive, and full of character. This is great to hear these side by side. I'm guessing the amp / fx settings were the same for all 3? Very different voices.

  • #2 Chet sounds the most airy to me

  • Are there TV Classics in the Frankentele or is one a TV Classic+?

  • i think the tele sounds "better" than the others.. it has a more "wide" and "open" tone in my opinion. great sound as usual mick! what was the fx chain this time?

  • +1 on white falcon, surprised the gent sounded thinner than the other two, i'm sure with a boost/comp or something like that it would sound comparable also. all 3 were great though!

  • @muggle911 I think the Tele sounded considerably more trebly compared to the Gent. The Gent had a bassier, fuller sound, it also sounds like it has more "air" or "breathing". Even though that Tele has filtertrons and a Strat neck, it still has a little of it's characteristic Tele "Twang". The White Falcon has a little noticeable "acoustic" tone, and the sound overall is somewhat different than the previous two guitars. Just my opinion, just my ears analyzing a bit. (:

  • White Falcon. But I sort a like all 3 - they each have their own distinct sound. Nice clip.

  • my vote, as said to mick, goes to the FALCON. absolutely fantastic.

  • tele sounds best by far IMO. Seems the closest to the original songs sound to me.

  • j think ,for my Useless rookie, padawan ears, that the chet atkins got a "fat, full" sound, the white falcon got a"thin, smooth" sound and the Awesome Frankentele got the most "balanced" sound compared with the other two!....anw "they" are 3 Beautiful guitars! Ciao Mick !Thanks!

  • 1st sounds coolest to me, cleaner & forceful

  • My vote has to go to the Country Gent.

  • i liked the white falcon the most but the tele sounded almost as good.

  • frankentele it's good for this sound

  • my fav is the white falcon. the gentleman seems too nasal compared to the white. btw the tele is really similar to the white! I didn't expect that much

  • the franlentele is amazing! what about installing a bigsby on it ?
