The quality of life in the UK is reducing, especially as we continually spend billions bailing everyone out from their own debts, can you say the same about the US?

Then minus your mortgage, and the increasing charges for all basic services, soaring food/fuel prices as we have no farming industry, import everything and rely on debt. The quality of life in the UK is reducing, especially as we continually spend billions bailing everyone out from their own debts, can you say the same about the US?

Withdraw from subsidising or bailing out so many other countries and their own economies (read EU), we are not an empire anymore. Cap immigration in relation to unemployment and make it skill based rather than ethnicity. Force more responsible regulation on banks. Stop going to war and spending billions every other year.

@paareth Basically, you're free in the US if you've got the cash. It's all up for sale. The poor people in the US? They're fucked. I mean, not everybody can work their way up...there is always the bottom of the food chain to consider, and that's where the lie of the American dream is exposed. Not everyone is free to live it.
New Zealand sounds good. But personally, I would aim for a place with a higher quality of life, like Switzerland.
