The ONLY way to play this game successfully is with an original (microswitch-type) QuickShot II joystick. And rather than actually holding the base in one hand while moving the stick with the other hand, you should hold the stick in one hand while tapping the base on the palm of the other hand. I was an expert at this at the time.

It's simple but awesome. The blocks become more and more cunning (and almost sinister) as the the game progresses. It's addictive. I loved it.
It's one of those games where you can restart the same level until you finally end up completing it. It's great because you're not racing against time or speed. It relies purely on strategy and response.

i had it for xmas too as well as xzap there was a game called punchy were u had to jump and dodge objects!there was also a rolf harris paint set cant remember the 4th game tho!!
I think it was chess, I only remember because I always got an out of memory error message at the end of loading. Forgot all about punchy though, great game that from what I can remember. Great memories too, games were games, not flashy lifeless graphic fests that they are now, although I'm not complaining tooo much! Anyone remember Spectepede?

I'm not sure the C64 or other 8 bits had a game as original and finely tuned as this.
Still one of the best games for any system - ever.
