Nice work Diesel. When I first saw you and your attitude, I didn't think you'd ever change, but I'm glad to see that you proved me wrong. Keep up the good work man.
Wow huge difference in form. I saw all those dieselweasel vids and even though the form was painful, a person still need to be pretty strong to move that weight regardless. That strong man comp vid really opened my eyes as to the effort you put in. Although a lot of people are hating keep lifting hard.
Hey man, your form has definitley improved, you just need some work on your lockout.
I have a lot of respect for you man. You have something a lot of people around now don't have, and thats heart. You just don't give up on a lift and I totally respect that.
There are some mean comments about you around the web, but I think you are trying hard and show spirit!
A tip: When deadlifting, since you have small hips like me, try placing your feet narrower and angle your toes and knees out like a V (I stand almost with my heels together). In that way when you get the bar past your knees your hip is closer to the bar which makes the "endlift" easier. Try!
Yeah, most of those people who post mean comments on YouTube and message boards are usually the people who pull much less than 525 LBS. It comes from being weak and insecure.
Thanks for the tip. I'm always tweaking my form to try to be more efficient when I pull or do any other lift.
About 6ft 210lbs. 500 deadlift, 360 flat bench, 405 squat. Been lifting for 7 years now. I don't train strictly for strength/power though; but size as well. Eating plays a big role in that.
Holy crap, you rocketed off the floor! Just that little at the top slowed you down, otherwise that looked way lighter then what your max probably truly is! Cool as heck DW!
Nice gym lift and props for sticking with it through to the end. I doubt if it would pass in competition though it's possible (I'm trying to be constructive, NOT negative.)
As you main problem seems to be at the very top, I'd suggest doing Band lockouts (use light bands from Jumpstretch) and play with some lightened method deadlifts. Rack lockout won't help IMO as unconsciously eveyone alters their form to lift from the pins.
Yeah, I did reverse band deadlifts in the past and I'm going to do that again. But before I go back to that, I'll be focusing on an upcoming strongman contest in Florida which has me pulling 405 for maximum repetitions in 60 seconds.
Your power right off the floor is good enough for 600 or maybe alot more. Whatever is wrong with your lockout power, if you can fix that, you'll be pulling 650 at least. Very good, Max.
Thanks, Dan. I don't think it's a muscle imbalance issue. The stalling near lockout maybe could be due to the pull from the floor draining too much out of me.
You appear to have 0 hamstring flexibility, what's going on with that?

Congrats on the PR. My conventional is the same way. Rockets up off the floor and just stalls like crazy at knee level.
