I'm from Norfolk, Virginia. I come from a lower middle class home which didn't have any money to spend on my higher education so I worked and supported myself for 4 years saving up money. I went back to school working part time and earned a 4.0 GPA which earned me my place in the best school in my state which I'm now attending. I'm receiving no govt, charity, or family support and I have enough saved so that I don't need to work even if I go on to earn my master's degree.
And you know what? That whole time since leaving High School I have been reading philosophy and a great many other things. I had PLENTY of time to between paying my water bills, lol. I'm technically living in poverty with no income and only the money I saved up in my bank account but I live frugally and I lack for nothing that I need, or even want. Life in the US is a piece of cake and I am thankful for the fantastic western progress that has made this possible!

Every time I get the flu vaccine two or three weeks later I get sick with the flu. I have not taken the vaccine in three years and the most I got was the common cold. I stopped getting for my six year old and he hasn't seen the emergency room yet. Not this year or last year.

We need to start a "truth in labeling campaign". Everyone should print up small index card-sized stickers with a list of consequences of eating unhealthy foods - things like obesity, heart disease and diabetes. We can try to eat the least processed foods and prepare it ourselves, but most importantly we must give thanks and praise before every meal for added protection from Our Heavenly Father. The only way to make sure what you're eating is good is to grow it yourself. And even then, hybrids, pesticides, etc. will get you. Grow only organic heirloom vegetables, grains and beans. I'm from Norfolk, Virginia. I come from a lower middle class home which didn't have any money to spend on my higher education so I worked and supported myself for 4 years saving up money. I went back to school working part time and earned a 4.0 GPA which earned me my place in the best school in my state which I'm now attending. I'm receiving no govt, charity, or family support and I have enough saved so that I don't need to work even if I go on to earn my master's degree.

And you know what? That whole time since leaving High School I have been reading philosophy and a great many other things. I had PLENTY of time to between paying my water bills, lol. I'm technically living in poverty with no income and only the money I saved up in my bank account but I live frugally and I lack for nothing that I need, or even want. Life in the US is a piece of cake and I am thankful for the fantastic western progress that has made this possible!

Nations like India and Bangladesh started out WAY behind, but they're rising rapidly and so are their living standards. Does employing a person "exploit" them? Of course! @FreeMBS You know what is weird? I know this is a very old comment but since I have stopped getting the vaccine, I have not had the flu. I kid you not. Every time I get the flu vaccine two or three weeks later I get sick with the flu. I have not taken the vaccine in three years and the most I got was the common cold. I stopped getting for my six year old and he hasn't seen the emergency room yet. Not this year or last year.

I work in the restaurant industry and I see all kinds of people stepping in my fine dining restaurant,every third middle class family mother will order a Pepsi vs a squeezed juice and will order at least one refill sometimes even three for their already children. They also point out that the kids do not eat vegetables what so ever,strictly steak. My question to the community is, why are we in such a hopeless situation? What is the solution? Do I have to watch people sicken their families?

We need to start a "truth in labeling campaign". Everyone should print up small index card-sized stickers with a list of consequences of eating unhealthy foods - things like obesity, heart disease and diabetes. Go around to your local grocery stores and put them on the back of packages and bottles of processed drinks and foods, especially those marketed to kids. Maybe put a skull and cross bones or biohazard symbol at the top of the list.

Diagnosed with MS after MANY years of suffering and various prescriptions drugs that only masked the symptoms. USA 0 EU 1 CHINA 1 RUSSIA 1 0= No national Health Care. 1= National Health Care. I live in the UK and I along with everyone else pay into a country wide health care system. If I am out on my motorbike and have a crash, I am taken to the hospital and my broken bones are fixed and I receive superb care and all at no cost to me at the time. The National Health System is treasured by the British. The Doctors and Nurses are loved and respected by the people . The system in the USA is shocking & sad.

The reason healthcare is such a big issue is because everything we are givien is poisonous.
