It's funny anything someone can't explain they proclaim to be fake. Even with the crappy video you can tell this is a missile test. Nothing amazing about it. They happen all the time in So Cal. People simply don't pay attention to what's going on around them or pay attention to the news. These people probably failed science in school too.

That was a missle test - they happen several times a year and leave a bright trail across the sky - you were lucky to get the footage of the missle as it crossed the sky.

This is a missile launch. A very beautiful thing to watch in the sky. Basically the exhaust charges water particle in the air. causing them to glow. As well as reflecting light from the sunset. I saw a beautiful one against a sunset once after going to MAgic Mountain.

My guess is it's a man-made missile of some sort. The zig-zag in vapor pattern suggests they were testing maneuvers. Most UFO's leave no trail at all at night, and fly a much straighter line.

post 2 of 3 - By the time they go downstairs and have video again, the white dot is long gone. And the long vapor trail is no longer moving to the left of screen. What looks to be an ionized (?) vapor trail is all that's left. I saw a video (History Channel I think) of a Space Shuttle astronaut say, on reentry the cabin illuminates bright white because it gets ionized.

After watching several times, I dont think this video is fake --it just has crappy frame rate and some pixelization. 10 more seconds of video right before the vapor trail stopped producing, would help prove what I think it is. Right before it zooms at the start, look at the far left of the vapor trail. The tip is bright white. Then after the camera zooms, the trail stops going left at the same time. But a small white light keeps going to the left (and behind trees).

I've seen several missile launch and those are the trails they leave behind. The white light was the final stage as it reached the upper atmosphere. Because its flying high, they are exposed by the sun's light, the reason it looks bright.

Another missile/rocket launch out of Vandenburg AFB up near Lompoc CA. If they launch after sunset, the missile flies high up into the sunlight and looks very briliant from the dark earth. During the Ballistic Missile Defense Tests I used to watch all the Minuteman missiles from Playa del Rey, usually off Vista del Mar, also by the hilltop next to the gas company.

That is a Titan ICBM missile test out of Vandenburg AFB. I was at the Santa Monica pier when I saw the last one launched a couple of years back. Leaves a very intriguing trail behind it after it explodes high up in the atmosphere. Looks beautiful at sunset. Do a google search, there are very common.
