  • Wonder what hendrix would think ?

  • He obviously plays a lot of Guitar Hero.

  • That is pure awesome!

  • wooord buckethead

  • 8:37 Buckethead is the only one who can come up with something like that :) SOOOO AWESOME!

  • Jimi is looking down from heaven and saying "Oh My God!!!!!"

  • Its cool because buckethead knows how to play the blues and other styles at the same time. If you ever heard Zakk Wylde play voodoo child, it sounds too metallic, zakk just doesnt have the feel for it.

  • @ZombiesFan95

    Not even truely blues, really.

  • @psychoticparaplegic I honestly think so. Very nice playing style.

  • your guys lil convo down there is sounding pretty lame....straight up when hendrix was around and people saw him play they ALL thought that was the highest skill of guitar possible (humping amps, lighting guitars on fire, and really fast endless blues runs).now if anybody is gunna sit here and try to say buckethead doesnt live up to one of the greatest guitarist I THINK YOUR pretty damn CLOSE MINDED towards music..just let the media tell you what to like and stop watching buckethead videos please

  • @skatinsince97 Amen

  • Thanks for uploading this awesome vid!!! B always killing it, doing justice to Hendrix. Love this!

  • How do you say genius in martian. HENDRIX

  • stop it buckethead you're drunk

  • BAAAAAAAD AAAAAASSSSSSS!!!

  • He's too stiff though.

  • Jimi Hendrix is Chicken Butt Face's secret lesbian lover. They share panties. Do you like sword fights? Me too.

  • SuperDuperAwsome.

  • haha oh man at 8:40 the persons hand you see in the bottom left hand corner with the green drinking wrist band on.....keep watching it and you see these extra long fingers come out hahaha

  • that was probably the funniest thing ive seen in a long time. the best part is when he just walks off stage HA!

  • best guitarist ever

  • ONLY BUCKETHEAD....can play a PATCH CABLE and make it bad ass

  • the love child of William S Burroughs, Michael Angelo Batio and Michael Jackson! this guy's too good to be sane!

  • this is like Jimi Hendrix on steroids

  • For all the slash lovers who like to compare; Bet slash can't duplicate this!

  • @tgumbyw each are beast slash has a beast I dont live today cover and bucket is beast here. Slash still did a better job doing GNR songs than bucket and bucket rapes slash in terms of technical skill and speed but thats only 1/3 or what a great guitarist is all about. BB King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Rober Johnson are prime examples Jimi too he was no where near these guys in tech skill but had something else that made him special.

  • @Axl9 Whitewash (live version), Nottingham Lace (live version), The Interworld and the New Innocence (live version), Soothsayer, Big Sur Moon, I Love My Parents, Too Many Humans, Padmasana, Running From the Light, Coma, Ghost, Mrs. Beasley, Animal Behavior...

Listen to at least some of those songs. Buckethead is an incredibly soulful, versatile and creative guitarist. Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson etc were great, but please don't claim that Buckethead is 'just a shredder'

  • absolutely awfull he isn't a guitar hero its was a joke?

    Tell me yes please.....

  • @rodchilipepper faggot !

  • @rodchilipepper FAG!

  • @rodchilipepper You are a joke. Stop fucking coming on videos to fucking hate on them. You have nothing better to do with your day, but try to... convince?, I assume, others that Buckethead isn't great. What is your point? We don't give a fucking shit what you have to say. Buckethead is fucking good. Please be reasonable before you post you fucking twit. I hate a lot of musicians, but I have better things to do than insult them. I can also appreciate skill and talent when I see it you fuck!

  • BUCKETHEAD IS GOD

  • aksdlasdlasjdh!!! THIS IS INSANEEEEEEEEEEE!! im insanee right now!!

    (@.@)

  • B's taste is exactly like mine: Jimi, Zombie, etc.

Or perhaps lots of us have the same taste.

  • Fuckin' word down!!!

  • Brian is a genius!!

  • @RobotSlaughterhouse you arent his mother -_-

  • Awesome guitarist. It's weird he just kind of stands there. I kind of expect guitarists that good to be really expressive. Hendrix looked like he was on another planet in sheer bliss when he played. This is amazing playing. Just like Hendrix and his long jams like he forgot he was even on stage or in a studio.

  • @JerkyFraser I hear ya, I imagine its much more of a mechanical experience for Buckethead. Less "feeling" the song, then "executing" the song. Oh and Jimi was on another planet when he played :)

  • @KurtVachon listen to too many humans by BH and tell me you dont "feel" something :]

  • Comment removed

  • word, maximum bucket

  • put some light on the bass fuckin player mates

    buckethead would be gratefull

  • this mix was pure exellence. One of B's best for surrre

  • B's ???

    ...Buckethead is better.

  • wtf?

  • B is Buckethead, smart one

  • gotta love that wah on the bass

  • Machine Gun on Praxis' Tennessee 2004 is the best version of 'Machine Gun'.

  • What is he doing starting at 8:37 ?

  • He unplugged his guitar and starts tapping the cord with his thumb

  • shit ...this is incredible...Buckethead doing a machine gun cover... machine gun is by far the best of hendrix and now buckethead is the man

  • @LondonKumamoto red house live (13minute version) is the best from hendrix , and buckethead never can play the blues like the man

  • I wonder what Buckethead is thinking during that Bass solo in the beginning.

  • "i could do better"

    hahahah

  • in ur dreams =D

  • hahaha that was actually a reply to

"I wonder what Buckethead is thinking during that Bass solo in the beginning"

    to danstranger51

    lol

  • o lol sorry =D

  • Nevermind sorry

  • In ur mums dreams

  • lol yeah anyway shredding is for newbs. its called soloing when u actually know what you're playing

  • i bet buckethead is a lot less of a noob then you are. just enjoy this music..

  • JIMI is the best anyone can play like even less

was good but the fact that touch of hendrix machine gun and a piece that is unique and almost nobody dares to touch it;)

  • ??? that made no sense i can barely understand what ur argument is

  • no no u, good sir, are completely wrong

  • Not the same vibe jimi gave his. it was spose to be about warand the madness that goes with it. i just think bucket didn't catch that vibe the way jimi did on this one. really good work tho specaily around 4:40.(iam a huge BH and JH fan)

  • cool but not the same feeling as hendrix.

  • aborygydknee plz leave youtube everytime you leave a comment you get slashed to pieces by everyone. even the people that side with you on your opinions still think your an idiot. yes its safe to agree that buckethead isnt as good as jimi but really no one was or is but hopefully someone will be. but wait no one ever will be because dousches like you are gonna talk shit about them

  • Jimi Hendrix: When I die, I want people to play my music, go wild and freak out and do anything they want to do.And this is my comment to you all that shi. on bucketheads cover.

  • thank you ffs

  • Think the other way, what if Jimi saw Buckethead? Wouldnt he be impressed where music went to after he left it? See Buckethead as an new insight to music, not another competitor for the guitar god title.

  • i love both these guitarists 5 stars

  • U right about that, he is not talent like GREAT J.H.Today´s music is not even near what Jimi Hendrix made and that is the reason why it´s stupid to compare B.H. to J.H. But in that light I (my own opinion) could say B.H. is talented PLAYER of his time. He is not as greative as Jimi Hendrix was and never will be, J.H. was unique, but his not shredder like Paul Gilbert because he don´t hv technique as good as P.G. But the way he play is something else, and I like it.

  • jimmy and bucket are totally different and cant be compared, BUT from wikipedia on buckethead: "He is a prolific COMPOSER, having released 38 solo albums and performed on over 50 more. He has also made a guest appearance on 44 different albums from various artists. His music spans across diverse areas such as thrash metal, funk, electronica, jazz and avant-garde music."

So, he can compose, and isnt the goal of a cover mainly to copy?

  • Actually I know quite a lot about Jimi Hendrix and his life and what he have done. I been great fan of J.H. early 70´s and so on... but Mr bucket is a different kind of talented and I do not mean technic but style how he plays like J.H.´s music. Peace man.

  • f..ing awesome, really talented player like Jimi.

  • huh? what do u mean

  • machine gun lazer @ 4:50

he left hand looks like a spider dancing upside down on the guitar's neck @ 6:15

  • lol @ the robotic shit. i'd love to see him live.

  • how he do that shit at the end? he unplugged the guitar jack but did somethin with it in his hand?

  • Its called radiation all you do is put the drive select on heavy, take the jack out put it on your hand and push down on the wa-wah

  • Digital effects didn't exist when hendrix was alive so Herdrix used no whammy. He did however use the octavia and you can hear at the end of foxy lady.

  • buckethead is addictive. This guy knows his stuff.

  • He did all the effects with just bends, didnt even have a whammy like Jimmi had to do all the tremmy work. That's where he stands out, with any equipment, he can still play anything.

  • There is no way he doesn't have a whammy pedal in this video, how else could he control the feedbacks pitch like that while not holding his guitar?

Plus Buckethead from what i have seen and heard always uses one

  • I guess i made a mistake, oh well...

  • I guess i made a mistake, oh well...

  • hah oh well never mind, Buckethead is still amazing and you're right he can probably play anything

  • hes a robot that escaped from disneyland its ok

  • the god!!!!

  • great video good job

  • i thought that jimi hendrix died in 69?

    my bad if he didnt.....

  • This sounds good. I guess the bucket would've done Jimi proud.

  • @hndrxuntilidie Jimi and BH together would be something so devine that god just couldnt allow it.

  • @hndrxuntilidie

with respect, BH would smoke Hendrix. Hendrix was who he was due to popularity, BH is who he is due to raw talent. Hendrix was mostly flash...

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA word .

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA what are you talking about hendrix wasnt all flash many of the greatest guitarest of today are all influenced by him you dont even know what your talking about when you say buckethead is way better than hendrix and i think bh would say the same thing

  • @mmdmcknight

we are all entitled to our opinions(lol as most of you get your opinions from guitar mags, web sites etc, they aren't really your own anyway). When your mind is free, you are able to see things, smell things, HEAR things better, my mind certainly free and i'm not swayed by the popular crowd, i feel sorry for you...

  • @mmdmcknight

    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Im not going to deny that Buckethead can play circles around Jimi Hendrix, yet almost every GOOD guitar player would cite Jimi Hendrix as their influence.. why? because he was playing stuff nobody even dared to at his time, he was a pioneer in music. What has Buckethead started? NOTHING... he is an incredibly skilled guitar player, but he still has things to achieve...

  • @kevinisblack1

I agree with most of what you stated, i would just add that Hendrixs' popularity was also due to the fact that there wasn't as much for people to choose from as there is today, and he played to the generation at the time, 'peace, love, etc'. So when the recording gods decided to make a guitar god, Hendrix was their tool at the time. It's easy to stand out back then as apposed to today.

I just don't get into popularity contests...

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA I would just say that back then, artists had more "feeling" when it came to playing guitar, if you know what I mean. Nowadays, they play with incredible skill, but sometimes, less melody.

  • @kevinisblack1 We're certainly getting closer to agreeing, lol. I think the genre's nowadays, metal, death metal, essentially all the really heavy stuff has swayed the young from passionate, emotional music.Easily there are more people playing guitar than Hendrix's day,but as you said definitely not as much "feeling".

Buckethead does have great emotion,i adore his softer stuff, but i think that Stevie Ray Vaughan was the best ever, and he may have just taken true emotion with him...

  • @kevinisblack1

My roomie is a metal/metalcore/death-metal genre kind of guy, while he's got great skills, and can play softer more emotional stuff,he always bows out when i ask if he wants to throw some softer stuff together. I would bet that most of the 'harder' guitarists would love to play softer stuff, but may have tons of peer pressure.Imagine playing hardcore stuff and your buds see you playing nicey nicey, you'd prob catch a beating(lol)

So you heavy hitters, just let the love flow, lol

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA hahahaaha they should just do what they want

  • @kevinisblack1

I should have added that it's obvious to some of us who grew up in the 70's, who have seen the changes, listened to damn near them all, and are scratching our heads saying WTF is going on. Rap isn't music, and country is moronic, rock is just metal retards, etc. That being said it has to be obvious to some that music has been intentionally dumbed so as to further create an idiotic society(USA), and who can argue with that one?

Not much left in the US that's worth a damn

  • @kevinisblack1

not likely in this cess pool society, when the only thing one of theses vermin ameriocan knows how to appreciate i the but one big mac get one for free, i hate this country

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA moving is always an option.

  • @awesome9001

    funny you said that...soon

USA is certainly hard to beat beauty wise, but it's inhabitants have made it a place to visit, not live.

  • The dance at the end is awesome xD

  • i like this guy, i am now a new fan

  • for real info on buckethead check out my channel

  • talented

  • This is Brian Carroll.

  • No, this is BUCKETHEAAAAAAD!!!!!!!

    300 knockoof... haha

  • same guy

  • lol he sometimes does it. maybe beacause this music come from guts? :)

  • I'll probabley sound like an idiot, but what the hell was he doing at 2:42. I get why he was playing what he was playing, but why did he hit himself in the gut, lol.

  • because he can

  • What were people saying about Hendrix when he came out? This man is the most influential player since Hendrix. And obviously basing your opinion off this, one of his wackiest performances, will give you a warped impression of him. Listen to Electric Tears.

  • yes...the song is so great that it's even my youtube name : )

  • no, Jimi plays lefty

  • bucket was born the year hendrix died legend reborn anyone?

  • yeaa.. interesting u noticed that. i didnt. yea he's usualy in black or yellow;

thanks for the "heads up" hehe. eh cheers mate.

nothing like a few fun comments here n there..

instead of the typical "haters" thingy .

    buckethead rocks.

  • No, he's not in red. I'm not going to swear to it, but it looks like its just some kinda glare from the stage lights.

  • No, no. Yep, he is in red.

  • internet fights are pointless. Just chill and enjoy the music

  • well put.

  • You smell.

  • hahah SO mature. but i bet you smell worse

  • Great footages..out of curiousity how was the Buckethead show in Knoxville?

  • Lawlz view 10,000!

    5*

  • the axe is your therapist, biographer and armor

  • Yo Buckethead is fuckin insane wit those riffs but i still like Hendrix's version of machine gun...any1 have a video from Filmore east the long ass version of jimi's machine gun song let me kno?

  • too many notes my friends and no soul

  • One of the best, doing the best

  • Hmm, after watching a bunch of his videos... I've determined that I hate Buckethead.

  • D:

How can you hate him?! Even if his playing isn't your cup of tea, he's still a friendly and modest musician!

  • after reading this ive determined youre a dumbass

  • I didn't say he wasn't an accomplished musician you itchy trigger fingered bastards. I just think his music resembles the squeaking brakes on a car...The driver never seems to mind it; but everyone else on the street wants his car to explode. Oh, and you're all obese and friendless. There's that internet battle you wanted.

  • Hey KrismanX Go suck a dick

  • Oh umm, ok.

  • Seriously, do it now.

  • amazing sounds

  • great sounds

  • Does Buckethead use a Q-Zone or some type of auto-wah?

  • Well, in every picture of his live set-up I've ever seen, he's using a crybaby.

  • You can get them on eBay now, and I believe Dimarzio put one out as well.

  • did he just knocked himself with is guitar?

  • 2;44 > LOL

  • i love his rubber band guitar strap! i want it now!

  • beautiful *wipes tear*

  • SOLID!!

  • Congrats on the taping. Very little shaking, excellent sound, and clear picture. Nice, cant wait to see more.

  • My first time taping a show. Can't wait to do more.

  • My advise is (if you can) have one camera in back on the tripod doing long and medium shots, then put a hand-held up front for close-ups.
