Great movie. I rented it from Blockbuster a few weeks ago and I was kind of upset to have to take it back haha.

Go see it. I did and after I watched it, I can honestly say that it really made me appreciate my life so much more.

Ya, I asked myself the same question. Couldn´t find any translation that made sence to me. In Germany they called the movie "7 Lives"...what does "pounds" mean in this circumstances? A heart doesn´t weight 7 pounds :D I found out that much :D

the movie is called 'seven pounds' because it's derived from a story of shakespeare who once wrote about a guy who had to pay his debts with parts of his body or so.

and because ben also pays with his body (and his life) for being guilty for 7 dead people, it's called '7 pounds' in the english-speaking countries.

This movie was boring, deppresing, and dissapointing. We thought it would be very good since Will is in it but it wasnt. We didnt even figure out the plot until the last five minutes of it. We were very much looking forward to seeing this so we saw it today. This is unfortunately the most depressing movie I've every seen. If you are fragile, depressed, suicidal, lost a loved one, have no hope, or just feeling sad, PLEASE be cautioned...it almost ruined our Christmas and offers no solution to real problems. VERY DEPRESSING. VERY SAD. PS...good public service commercial for never texting or blackberrying again while driving. Disappointing at best. Will Smith is always a great actor.

You're silly. This movie is not very depressing or very sad. I guess it can be if you look at it the way you do. There is a beautiful message in this movie. How many people out there who have killed others in freak accidents go out and find others who are in dire need of help, and help those people in return for the lives they have taken? You just don't see that everyday. If anything, this movie should make you stop and think about how you're living your life. Beautiful movie!

i just saw this tonight i thought it was one of the worst films he has ever made. his last 7 films were #1 , and this one just ruined his streak. everyone is saying "they would have never guessed the ending" as soon as you find out her problem, that tells everything! all cause the phone call in the beginning. ok story, very poorly told!
