1st: This is not a JRPG... it's a cRPG (even if it's played on a PC), that's how genrs work. Second, it's a parody. The chair joke is not even original from this game, but copied from Adventurers!

And I do wonder WHY people make action RPGm when you can have perfectly fine AND enjoyable turn based combat with nice twists (See Radiant Historia for a nice example)

@shanara99 JRPG is a type of CRPG (CRPG meaning computer roleplaying game, so I don't understand why you said "even if it's played on a PC". The term CRPG has been around for longer than the sub-genre of JRPGs). The classification of JRPGs as JRPGs has, to my knowledge, been around since at least the mid 90's, though it is probably older than that.

And I love turnbased combat, I just need it to make me feel involved. I'll take Wizardry or ToEE over Final Fantasy any day.

The live action cut-scenes are supposed to be like Mark Leung's video series poking fun at RPGs: College Saga. I had the same thing happen when I started the game with barely anything visible (using Windows 7 64-bit and a Radeon card), and when I restarted the demo I had no more visual problems. The only other problem I ran into is that the music wasn't always playing on the field.

What the hell... 183,123 views and less than a thousand people bought the game. I recommend this game regardless of whether you enjoy or despise RPGs. It parodies so many games, politicians, celebrities, and it references the creator's Youtube video series: College Saga.

The enjoyment of JRPG combat is usually similar to turn-based strategy, in that each battle should be a test of strategic thinking, rather than spamming button presses to blow things up. Unfortunately... JRPGs have become ridiculously easy, with MAYBE the only two challenging ones we've gotten lately being Lost Odyssey & Radiant Historia.

Anyway, this game looks strangely appealing, in a very weird, VERY weird way. Maybe this question was answered, but is there music? SO quiet!

Sure there are bad JRPG's just like there are bad First Person Shooters or Action RPG's, but that's no reason to condemn an entire genre..
