I have the lanboy air as well, you could run the power cable in between the motherboard and the motherboard tray if the standoffs are long enough, that will give it enough room to hide the cable.
@valleygraphicsonline Would the case hold the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme mother board as it an extended form factor love what you have done with this. looks fantastic
@avishkarsawant1 No it doesn't. There is more dust maintenance with the case but its nothing extreem. I clean the dust out about once every three months.
Can enyone subscribe to me i thinking about going pro on youtube and doing giveaways and all. but first in need subbsrcibers and buy a camera. Thnks and have a great day.
@parkinlotpimpin89 I agree that it is primarily designed for air cooled systems. The reason I went with it is because it is the only case that allows you to really customize the front of the case (Hard drive area). Plus, it does come with rad mounts on top that worked perfect for this build. Last, I'm still using a decent number of fans inside the case to cool down the hard drives and VGA's so the mesh is still being utilized as it was intended. Thanks
@valleygraphicsonline There's so much wrong here I don't know where to start. The most glaring thing being that you could have gotten the same performance out of one better video card with half the heat and power consumption.
@foxmajik Your not one of those people that complain about everything and don't have any solutions, are you? even if you are not going to give me a video card suggestion I'll reply to your comment anyways. I started out with just one gtx460. It is more than adequate for my use. Got a second one because I got it for a very good price used. I would love to hear what else you think is so wrong with my computer. Since this video I have sold one gtx460 because I just don't need it.
@BrooklynXT1 Seriously. I'm not going to live that one down. I would like to say that I am not going to make that mistake again but I probalby will. Thanks for checking out my video. :)
I have the same kit (lanboy and WC) and was having trouble getting the mounting holes on the res to line up with the mounting brackets. I notice in your video (about 3:14) that your holes are misaligned just like mine are. So is your res just sitting there held up by the optical drive?
@Edbert2004 Good question. If you look at the viedo again you can see that there are still brackets on each side of the res. In between the brackets and the res are cut strips of tubing left over from the liquid cooling build. I took a 2-3inch strip of tuping and sliced it down the middle, cutting it in half. Then I used it as grip between the res and brackets to hold the res in place. It works fine but I keep meaning to find better fix for it.
@SenorMeowMeow The two 120 fan areas on top of the case are designed to place a radiator on them so the mounts are a part of the case. Its designed for a dual rad but you can see that a tripple works well too. So all you have to do is screw the rad on. I noticed a lot of people mount fans on these locations but the design purpose was for a dual rad mount. Thanks
@OokamiDoragon Thats a good comment. Expecially since I wasn't going for a huge overclock. The reason I went with the 940 is because I got it used on craigslist for a great price. Much less than a new 920. Otherwise it would have been a 920 in this build. Also though, a 940 will most likely stay cooler and be more stable at 4 gigs than a 920. Thanks for the comment.
@OokamiDoragon Hah, I totally missed that joke. Your jokes can't be too smart here otherwise they will go right over my head. Sorry my response was a little defensive. Thanks for taking a look at my video.
I now have 12gigs of Kingston HyperX T1 black edition RAM in the computer. BBQTeach is right the RAM is dirt cheap. I got all 12 gigs for $80.00 at Frys. It works great.
Why would you ever use 3 RAM sticks? I doubt that processor supports tri-channel. Generally it's better to settle for 2x2gb (4gb) or put forth a little more cash for 2x4gb. You'll have some performance loss with your ram spread between 3 sticks.
@Xylogeist The processor does support tri-channel and there are three sticks because they are tri-channel. 2gb each. They don't make a motherboard that supports a type of RAM that also has a socket for a CPU that doesn't support the same type of RAM. All 1366 sockets support tri-channel. I now have six cards for a total of 12gb of ram. So I put forth a little more cash and bought tri channel instead of dual channel. Thanks for your comments.
@valleygraphicsonline OH, you went with 1366, sorry, thought it was 1155. Would you recommend this case to others? I'm working on a sandy bridge build :)
@Xylogeist No problem. Your right I forgot the new 1155 doesn't support the Tri-channel RAM. I love the case. It works great for me but I also believe it is one of those cases where you either love it our you hate. I would recommend this case to someone doing air cooled or liquid cooled. Its very versitile.
So this was my first custom loop. I all my research online and bought every component used off of ebay or craigslist. I started out with an H70 and then modified that by adding a res. after that I just replaced the whole system with what you see here. I love the liquid cooling and I don't think I wil go back to a heatsink ever.
... about the 8-pin MOBO power-cable, what I did was run the cable through the "clearance" of like GPU cards, so the cable was between the MOBO and GPU cards ... and by the "clearance" I mean like the tiny space between the GPU pciE pins & GPU connector/back-plate. Give it a try. :)
