hmm and someone please tell me when youre gonna need any of this brainwashing crap for everyday life? Isn't it sad what we have come to? We all sit around worrying about self defense and being attacked (even though it'll likely never happen to any of us) instead of LIVING our lives lol. So sad.
If a small man or woman tries this rubbish with a big strong fast untrained guy they are going to get killed. It is irresponsible to teach this crap unless it is a big guy using it on a wimp.
@Patrickthedutch I've used Pressure Points in real fights with great success, maybe you should train with someone who knows how to use them the correct way, they should only be about 5% of your total technique but they are truly an asset, just a side not if you hit the BG cluster the more pissed a person is the better effect you get when you hit it. check out Russell Stutely's stuff
if you are ever in a situation where you are in mortal danger you dont want to hurt the person you want to debilitate and destroy to save your life gouge eyes bite necks attempt to remove the throat if some one has a knife and you are unarmed your best defense is to run.
only a few pressure points actually work, the ones you demoed are not those of which i speak. the temple must be smashed in order to cause a knock out, and the bear hug release you did was sloppy, and obviuosly contrived.
sorry, but none of the techniques you show in the video will work. you expose your arms, you do not take complete control over opponent, and i would suggest that you stay the hell out of an armed fight if you aren't a VERY skilled fighter.
its sound coward, but (if i see the opening and the chance to do it) when im attacked by someone with a knife or close quarter weapon I use the scary movie self defence technique....RUN BITCH RUUUUUUUUUUUUUN¡¡¡
We all like to say we are equals, but what good are words without changing the attitudes that drive them and the actions they create? At iKickback, we think its time to give more than just 'lip service' to gender equality. We want to be part of a Movement! = for a new earth approach to self defence! You'll never see one video online where the pressure point is being delivered against a 2 year Muay Thai guy, or 2 year Boxer, or 2 year Collegiate Wrestler.
All the videos has an old, out of shape, or submissive training partner.
It is 100% possible to develop it however - if your instructor or "elder" trains you properly as I outlined.
Short of street fighting arts -- a study of Muay Thai and Judo will give you the coordination you need; add Catch Wrestling or BJJ for good measure.
@OctoBox this is absolutely false, I've seen Russell Stutely take guys in about an hour teach them his B.A.R. strike and then have a guy with a boxing glove try to take your head off. 100% of the time the person was able to instantly defend themself with one strike to the GB cluster.
@shadowman45810 -- A boxing glove is not "reality" -- UFC fighting is not reality either; but at least the gloves they use have use of their fingers and hands.
Show me a video with this "reality" training and if the people attacking look like they know what they are doing (based on my 30's of training) and they are not the standard lame half-hearted attacks usually reserved for over-the-top nerd-fetching demonstrations then I'll believe it.
@OctoBox I've only been training 29 years so I'm obviously not the expert you must be but I will tell you these guys were all cops from Massachusettes the time I was speaking of. The glove is more for false reassurance to those being swung at. Look up Russell Stutely's B.A.R (body alarm reaction) videos if you can't find it let me know I'll do a demo for you and post on my page. I can tell you though it works lol more importantly the guys getting hit will tell you it works ;)
@shadowman45810 -- Again -- show me a "real" time video (just one) where it looks like the other guy is "trying" to defeat Stutely or yourself then show me "the magic"
Until then I will continue to use the fundementals that have worked for centuries and leave the mystical magical for Mordor and Middle Earth.
@OctoBox You have obviously never trained with either of us. because there is not mystical magical anything, we both teach in a no B.S. way that is straight to the point, What exactly do you study? why don't you post any videos, I didn't see anything on your page that is real, fake or otherwise? and as you wish I will post a video after my next class, you will see a 300lbs guy throw a punch full force then you'll see me with one strike to the gall bladder cluster stop him in his tracks.
@shadowman45810 -- I'm not talking about a one-punch ("hey go ahead and throw a punch scenario") telegraph "showcase the move" kind of deal. I'm talking about showing your moves off of heavy sparring with non-students -- go find an open "spar night" gym (there's one in every town or major city) bring you camera and go clean house.
Just off a heavy sparring match is all.
There's not 1 video like this on the whole internet -- youd' be the first.
@OctoBox well unfortunately I live in Ada, Ohio every hear of it? probably not I don't live near a major city. But I assure you when we train we don't have rules in our school our rule is to win no matter what, we train for what we may encounter on the street and back to my original point it does not take years of study to know how to defend yourself on the street. Perhaps you would be so kind to come to my school and give us a demo?
@shadowman45810 -- I will know it when I see it. I was trained by "elders" (Cuba, North Philly, and off the Ojibwe Reservation) for 9 years and 12 years respectively. I was also fortunate enough to train with a "Vanguard" out of San Q who was my best friends cousin for 4 years. All of them were either elite marines (during Vietnam) or tough man - catch wrestlers....the Vanguard was a professional boxer and an ex-con (jailhouse rock). I never trained a McDojo style.
@OctoBox Catch wrestling is a great art, Tony Checcini is one of the best I've ever seen, insidently he's one of Russell Stutely's international grappling coaches. I was in the Marine Corps myself and to this day I still train various groups in Hand to Hand. I also try to avoid the McDojo schools fast food martial sports is not my thing ;)
@shadowman45810 -- I like how you are training your son, greatest gift a Dad can give -- keep it up. I have a 19 yr old; who at 13 survived a 3-man attack single handedly, hopefully she never has to prove the system like that again.
@OctoBox thank you very much, my father started me when I was 5 his dad started him when he was 5 and I started all 3 of my boys when they turned 5. my oldest turns 13 next month I hope he never has to deal with anything like that, but the world is full of screwed up people.
the idea of pressure points its too either twist a body part (hyperextend) or too reduce bloodflow.
no off these techs are realistic when someone has there tumb on you aplying presure, you person will simply move there head away and be like WTF is wrong with you?
too actualy reduce blood flow he needs too be controlled.
your wrist against his chinbone is the dumbest thing i ever heard, since the only thing that will allow you is too fracture if if aply extreme presure
poo! half these pressure points dont do shit. sure, they are uncomfortable, but good luck winning a fight by makin the other guy uncomfortable. and good luck pulling it off period. know what works better? the basics. punch. kick. knee. elbo. i bet you think Dim Mak works too.
jesuskopp, not only do some of these "look unsafe" they are. This is what happens when you get people that have been doing martial arts wrong for decades, teaching their students bad concepts, then when they learn something effective as presure points they try to add it to their Incorrect fundamentally poor technique base
thats because they are low percentage, pressure points (some and very few)can work so dont discard them. for a better percentage hit the heavy bag, take some clinching type arts like judo or something and do some jiu jitsu or wrestling
Sound advice. If I might add, it's also a really good idea to actually spar against a human opponent. Otherwise, what you learn on a punching bag or during a drill might not translate to the heat of the moment.
If the people in this video expect people to take it seriously they need to take it seriously. Laughing and smiling? How professional.

Pressure points wont work in a real fight. Too much adrenaline, too much of a strugle.
and that where your 3 secconds to get out of a choke.
YOU ARE GONE.
So learn something different.
p.s. yes pressure points work, they hurt like nuts..lol but not in a real fight.

Pressure points work great -- once you coordination is at least 2 to 3 times above average athletic.
It takes 2 years to develop this level of coordination -- 4X per week, 2hrs per session.
Also, the "coordination" must be against people who are "truly" trying to hit you -- takes around 6 months to slowly build up to full-out speed.
No point in learning pressure points if you can't deliver under "serious" pressure.

Ive used pressure points in fighting before. I worked a door job(security) and some guys decided to get rough.
So i used these pressure points in the arms and hands to make the scream and fall easier.
Extremely effective. But not all pressure points are in the same place all the time.
Some people are built differently.

With a bit of practice one may know how to find the right spot.
But a lamen will practice just untill he knows how the find the spot. And then he won't practice anymore.
Subsequently under duress he will not remember a single thing.
