The economy is cyclical. Government stimulus doesn't put anything on track, it simply makes the economy seem better until it inevitably goes back on track.
Every dollar spend on the stimulus will be taxed directly or indirectly through inflation.

I agree regulation is a viable part of business, but should only be used as a threshold (or last resort in serious cases such as Enron and Frannie & Freddie). But big government affects capital on small businesses (which creates 60-80% of all U.S. jobs). Significantly lowering tax rates while reducing wasteful gov't spending would pull the economy out of the recession through free market alternative solutions. Obama does promote tax cuts, but won't promote fiscally conservative gov't spending.

The "big guy" as you put it, PAYS ALL THE TAXES in this country. The problem is that there is not enough money in the bank accounts of all the rich people to pay for the social spending being done the Democrats.
Except for the fact that the Republican party is dead, this was pretty true, I suppose as long as the democrats continue to blame Bush , looking backwards, there will be some residual Bush people to do the rear guard.
The Republican Party is going the way of the 19th Century Whig Party. The only way for the GOP to survive is to jettison the xenophobic and Christian Taliban elements in the party.

I beg to disagree in some of your main arguments, First, all tho the country of my birth IS Portugal, and currently listed as #37, it's economy it's nevertheless included in the EU, which IS the number 1 economy on the world, with the USA at #2, and only because the so called free trade only works one way with many of our products being unfairly taxed upon entry on US. Obama has also not doubled your national debt, Bush did that, to my knowledge Clinton left $559 billion in surplus

Also, Obama spent more in his first 60 days than any other president from George Washington to Bush COMBINED! Yes, COMBINED! And you say now is the wrong time to be conservative? Did it ever occur to ppl that we were headed for big trouble in 06'? At least 2 years of the Banks and Wall Street bleeding us dry for their own wealth and greed! What if Obama did nothing? How does the economy even have a chance of growing. No Spending doesn't equal economic relief. I do believe it's not being spent fast enough to reverse the effects, but I know for a fact that $800+ isn't near enough to get the U.S. back on track. Even Bush had a stimulus! A drop in the bucket!

The economy is cyclical. Government stimulus doesn't put anything on track, it simply makes the economy seem better until it inevitably goes back on track.
Every dollar spend on the stimulus will be taxed directly or indirectly through inflation.

I agree regulation is a viable part of business, but should only be used as a threshold (or last resort in serious cases such as Enron and Frannie & Freddie). But big government affects capital on small businesses (which creates 60-80% of all U.S. jobs). Significantly lowering tax rates while reducing wasteful gov't spending would pull the economy out of the recession through free market alternative solutions. Obama does promote tax cuts, but won't promote fiscally conservative gov't spending.

As a business man, when confronted by someone that drives a business branch on the rocks, I relieve them from the position and do 2 things, get rid of them, hire someone that hopefully knows how to get things going again, or at least is prepared to make tough decisions, IT does not strike me as particularly clever to listen to the people that created the mess in the first place, whether they be REP's or DEM's , it just so happens that THEY were all REP's or should i say RIP(USA) party?

Still, it gives a nice contrast when comparing the old guy "Do Nothing" party to the active, new idea Obama administration. I think the tax revolts are pretty relevant to all americans.. hopefully we see a more solid leadership in this.. and the movement needs to be a combination of people from all parties. Taxes are something that everyone is affected by.. we should at least make sure our people are doing their job with the money. Let's put a clamp on washington dc this time early before its too late.
