'm going to assume that means that 2012is very, very (a million verys later) bad, since that's what DBE is. I've never seen either (because I don't believe in supporting media that milk licenses or cheat their consumers) but I already knew it was going to be awful just from the trailers. Here's an idea, rent and watch both on the same night and watch DBE first. Then if you survive the sheer awfulness, watch 2012. I assure you, side by side, DBE'll make 2012 look like a jewel by comparison.

Okay it was a bad movie, but people have to remember the evolution part they wanted to change it, which was lame. I think they should have done the story of the Saiyan Saga to the end of the Frieza Saga and called it Dragon Ball Z: Evolution :).
i dont see how the plot made NO sense to u and led to nowhere for u after a while...it was all well put together for me...but as i sed, it could have been longer...it was only an hour and 12 minutes...maybe almost 2 hours would have been great...they could have expanded a lot more...
Also, goku's past in the movie related quite well with wat akira originally wrote...goku is not from earth...was a mysterious creature (Oozaru) raised by gohan...only difference was the age...

The reason why everyone thinks this was a terrible dragonball movie is becuase it WAS a terrible dragonball movie. However, unlike most people out there, I actually want to be entertained. I wanted to get my money's worth. And, after seeing the trailer, I knew this was going to suck as a DRAGONBALL movie. So, when I went to see it, I didn't expect a bad dragonball movie but rather a decent martial arts movie. And it was.

I still don't understand why people hate this. Well omega has explained in to us but if we watch it as an alternate but similar story to the real thing then we will really enjoy it i mean i really like that ma fu ba technique master roshi uses you have to agree on that. But i'm just saying that this movie it not bad at all if you watch it as an alternate to the original magna. Trust me you'll enjoy it.

'm going to assume that means that 2012is very, very (a million verys later) bad, since that's what DBE is. I've never seen either (because I don't believe in supporting media that milk licenses or cheat their consumers) but I already knew it was going to be awful just from the trailers. Here's an idea, rent and watch both on the same night and watch DBE first. Then if you survive the sheer awfulness, watch 2012. I assure you, side by side, DBE'll make 2012 look like a jewel by comparison.

They can throw the whole "made for non-hardcore fans" excuse out the window. DBE wasn't just bad for a Dragonball movie, it was bad for a kung fu movie, it was bad for a B movie, (which it wasn't, it had more than enough of a budget to make a great movie but they didn't) heck, why don't I just get right to the point and say it was bad for a movie, PERIOD. The makers have no excuse for making a movie this bad, because even the worst of the mentally retarded could have done better.

Dude when I heard they were actually making the sequel, I kid you not, I actually screamed in outrage. I loathe this movie, hate it with every fiber of my being. I am a pacifist, but if this movie was a person I'd beat them senseless. It's like a bunch of old Hollywood farts got together and said, "Hey let's do everything we can to ruin this series."

in the movie it said that piccolos diciple is the ozaaru and they almost destroyed earth thousands of years ago. so if ozaaru=goku, does that mean that goku was born thousand years ago. even the plot doesnt make any sense

Okay it was a bad movie, but people have to remember the evolution part they wanted to change it, which was lame. I think they should have done the story of the Saiyan Saga to the end of the Frieza Saga and called it Dragon Ball Z: Evolution :).

i dont see how the plot made NO sense to u and led to nowhere for u after a while...it was all well put together for me...but as i sed, it could have been longer...it was only an hour and 12 minutes...maybe almost 2 hours would have been great...they could have expanded a lot more...
Also, goku's past in the movie related quite well with wat akira originally wrote...goku is not from earth...was a mysterious creature (Oozaru) raised by gohan...only difference was the age...

ugh...OMEGA...im gonna tell u ALONG WITH everyone else who despised this movie...i felt that it was fairly good...not great, but not bad...it could have been longer, but u cant really complain...ok, here is MY rant:
you CANNOT turn an anime like DRAGONBALL into a live action movie without twisting some plot and tuning down the action. The speed and CGI they would need won't be available to us until 2050...please understand that...i do admit that the plot did seem a little rushed though...

Dude. We're not looking for a spot on Anime to live thing with every detail in place. We're looking for a faithful adaptation to the story as a whole. Look at star trek. Great fucking movie even though it had NOTHING to do with the original series. The characters where off on so many ways the effects and music where bad and overall as a movie it sucked. It was a b-rated film, point blank. They rushed it too fast, without giving it the time/money they needed to make a good quality live action version of Dragon Ball. What scares me, is the fact that they have the green light for the sequel. Be prepared to see Vegeta. *shutters*

The reason why everyone thinks this was a terrible dragonball movie is becuase it WAS a terrible dragonball movie. However, unlike most people out there, I actually want to be entertained. I wanted to get my money's worth. And, after seeing the trailer, I knew this was going to suck as a DRAGONBALL movie. So, when I went to see it, I didn't expect a bad dragonball movie but rather a decent martial arts movie. And it was.
