  • How much olive oil and how much lye and water do you use for this recipe?

  • @kajakarine I really appreciate your question, but I don't give out any of my recipes. I'm sorry, but if you do a search, I'm sure you could find a recipe online. Or you could just run it through a lye calculator with the amount of olive oil you want to use and it will give you the appropriate lye/water amounts. I don't remember for sure, but The Soapmaker's Companion book might give a Castile Soap recipe. Hope that helps a bit! :0)

  • @WickedScentuals

Thank you. I'll google for the lye calculator. :)

  • I too love castile soap - so simple and elegant. Thanks for sharing - I love watching others make soap!

  • @SoapGecko Your Welcome!! Thanks For Watching! :0)

  • Aloha, mahalo nui loa for sharing! Does it become a firm bar of soap or would it be considered a softer bar of soap. Thanks so much. Aloha nui!

  • @kupunaandmapuana Aloha!! :0) This will become a very hard bar of soap if left to completely cure. It does not hold up as well in water as a soap containing some harder oils/butters, though, so it really needs to be able to dry well between uses. Thanks So Much for watching and commenting!! :0)

  • @WickedScentuals Mahalo, that was very helpful!
