  • I love this man! Great.

  • They should play more like Charlie Watts? That's a joke, right? That statement is either extremely funny, or the dumbest thing I've every heard. Whatever the case, this is a great clip

  • Papa Jo Jones' brushwork is incredible. -Justice Constantine

  • a friend of mine recently gave me a copy of Jo playing and talking about the history of jazz drums, effects, obscure names, etc. It's all great, but I still after it being in CD player for two weeks, I cannot believe the sound of his voice. It doesn't match the man's face at all to me. It's really weird...

  • @joelyanthology rip cd and share!

  • that's song sick brushwork at 5:25-infinity

  • I think Papa Jo had more chops than Buddy .... he was certainly more musical than Buddy ....not that drumming is a competition but we all know Buddy is the standard when it comes to soloing and what can be done on the drums in a jazz idiom ... for my taste Papa Jo is the greatest ever

  • Is that tommy flanagan at the end???

  • Daaayyyuummm look at that brush work! That's really fast!

  • What a great footage! Precious! 10x

  • gene krupa kept explaining, papa jo jones just.. did it.

  • Damn! He makes it look so easy and fun. Bless his joyful essence! Jo Jones, so glad you and I talked at Jim and Andy's in NYC back in June of 1973. I lucked out by being there at the right time. Thank you lord. Now...to honor his joy and finesse. John-Hans Melcher "theQuietDrummer"
