i remember playing this game when it came out. i spent like $200 just to play this game, collectors edition along with a new video card upgrade... what a waste of fucking time. This is just a classic example of a well-received bad game. There are a few aspects of the game I thought were cool but all and all its utter shit. Wow kills this mmo, well... at least wow TBC :P

if u LOVE to pvp, and dont mind getting killed, and possibly not being able to finish some quests because some douches camp near the quest npc then tyranny or cimmeria are the best ones. If u like the general servers where u can only pvp in certain areas then go Wiccana! :D
alright. Word of advice...DONT go to the underhalls nor White Sands cause thats where all the fucking asshole lvl 25 players camp at to gank lowbies. Once you leave tortage and go to the world though ganking isn't as rampant, but that and griefing still lurks. If you find the ganking to be too much i hear Cimmeria is a nicer community, pvp wise. And remember, if u wanna go general go Wiccan :P
I'll agree with you all that WoW doesnt have good graphics. They are slowly improving them but it's not nearly as good as I other game's graphices. However to say that the gameplay is bad is absolitelly ridiculous. I just watched this video and the cotrols semmed to be really tough. u run, u stop, u attack. u face another way then u attack again. by that time u oponent left wth is that. All and all it's a matter of who found that little thing that makes u like the game. WoW is a lot of fun
i agree... but also remember, wow was created when most computers that people play on can't handle the good graphics... hell, still msot can't... most of northrend has a LOT better graphics than the rest, and alot of people have trouble playing in northren with anything higher than "Low" graphics, just because blizzard has stated "THIS GAME IS FOR LOW END COMPUTERS"... also its the warcraft style to make things cartoony (look at warcraft 3...)

you know wow has one of the best graphics and gameplay out there .... which was about eight years ago. Yeah i definitely agree blizzard needs to get of their arses with innovation and tech improvements .
in 2004 valve came out with a game that dominated with graphics, while blizzard comes out with an arcade game. even if you need a faster computer to play wow, hl2 still has much much nicer graphics. what the hell is wrong with blizzard? they should try age of conan with direct X10 turned on to see how graphics should look like, or any other game like mirrors edge. what kind of pillars are squared? thats the graphics of wow. squared pillars? they are round in age of conan.
You all forget the best MMO of all time, SWG. In it's prime (pre-CU) it kicked the crap out of ANY MMO on the market today...FACT! Then Sony went and pissed all over it :(

WoW still is the best MMO. There's nothing wrong with it, people just lose themselves in the nostalgia. The game is much better now then it was in vanilla WoW, nuff said. 40 man raids were not fun. For the longest time all there was was molten core and Onyxia. Not fun. PvP balance was much more horrible then it was now. Anyone remember warriors? Shamans? Yeah, they were exetremely OP. People get bored after playing a game for 2, 3 years. WoW is still great, if not better then it was.
after ten years of gaming, playing one of the best games ever like half life 1 & 2, call of duty, operation flashpoint, deus ex, age of empires, civilization, gta and tetris, I have finally decided to play world of warcraft to see what the hype is all about. people convinced me that this game has awesome graphics and I've believed them. when I tried the game, it was horrible, I got embarrassed at graphics. the gameplay wasnt better than super mario.
You're a dumbass. WoW isn't about graphics. It's about gameplay. Any RPG fan cares absolutely nothing for graphics. WoW has the smoothest most fluent animation of any MMORPG out there. The others feel a bit lagged in terms of controls and the time between firing off a skill and seeing it execute on screen. I still play super mario 64. The game play rocks. I still play lots of old games. Half life 1 and 2 as well. I play them for gameplay, not graphics. Anyone who plays for graphics over gameplay

Think about it, if WoW kept the same gameplay mechanics, but didn't have the extremely friendly user support / new stuff very often, it wouldn't be anywhere near as popular. YOur right partly here. WoW is REALLY amazing at the very start. Untill you reach the 40's. And moreso at 80. It stop becoming, you know, fun/impressive. It only becomes addictive. I will probably get denies here, but face it. In WoW you - pvp for gear. PVE for gear. What do you do with gear? GET NEW GEAR ...
in AoC, atleast for me, I always see something new. Anything from a epic duel with someone, to a naked lowbie running past me =O

Its an amazing game. Yes its 15 a month to play like all other mmorpgs. I came from daoc 5+ yrs and this honestly feels like daoc 2. WaRhammer wasa joke, WoW isa joke, (glider ftw though.) Try this game though u need a decent comp to run it and make it worthwhile. This is a mmo' vets kinda game.

I dont get any lag, except for the occasional lagspikes that every game has, its a great game, they merged a bunch of servers so now all servers have big populations, never hard to find groups

Ultima Online's graphics are pretty blah, but UO actually has alot more gameplay content than WoW, and it's not just barely more, it's by alot more. If Warhammer lasts, it will get up there in players justl ike WoW, and if Conan is good, then it will also. But in the end, All MMO's are the same, you just kill shit. The content is what keeps, and increases the player base.
All MMO's are the same, but it's content that keeps players, and since WoW keeps coming out with expansions, it keeps players. Warhammer, i think personally, lacks characters/content, because all DPS chaos look the same, and so on with every class. In WoW every character looks different. Conan might be good, I hadnt played it yet, but I've been around for a while, and I've played hundreds of MMO's and the main downfall for most is in the content. Alot of games just lack players.
WoW was amped up/talked about alot because so many people played the RTS, and alot still do, the "Hero" concept in the RTS's user made maps, where you control a single unit/hero and level him up and was alot of fun, so going on this concept, WoW was invented, and yeah it's pretty cool, but alot of people think WoW is the best. It's not, its the fact that it has alot of ideas/concept/gameplay options to keep you busy just long enough to keep from getting bored to quick.
lol, kids and female elves, that's what got WoW at the start. Half of these WoW players dont even know that there was an RTS, and even the Warcraft RTS wasnt first. Warhammer actually had board games before the Warcraft RTS. WoW is just a bunch of small, good ideas put together..That's about it, there's nothing really special, as all the combat is hack and slash, and there's no real skill required other than pushing a 1-9 key or hopping around trying to land more hits than your target.
people the pvp is nothing like this.. This is when the game first came out no one knows what they are doing or how to fight so yea dont make any conclusions about AoC off this video..

in 2004 valve came out with a game that dominated with graphics, while blizzard comes out with an arcade game. even if you need a faster computer to play wow, hl2 still has much much nicer graphics. what the hell is wrong with blizzard? they should try age of conan with direct X10 turned on to see how graphics should look like, or any other game like mirrors edge. what kind of pillars are squared? thats the graphics of wow. squared pillars? they are round in age of conan.

WoW still is the best MMO. There's nothing wrong with it, people just lose themselves in the nostalgia. The game is much better now then it was in vanilla WoW, nuff said. 40 man raids were not fun. For the longest time all there was was molten core and Onyxia. Not fun. PvP balance was much more horrible then it was now. Anyone remember warriors? Shamans? Yeah, they were exetremely OP. People get bored after playing a game for 2, 3 years. WoW is still great, if not better then it was.

after ten years of gaming, playing one of the best games ever like half life 1 & 2, call of duty, operation flashpoint, deus ex, age of empires, civilization, gta and tetris, I have finally decided to play world of warcraft to see what the hype is all about. people convinced me that this game has awesome graphics and I've believed them. when I tried the game, it was horrible, I got embarrassed at graphics. the gameplay wasnt better than super mario.

You're a dumbass. WoW isn't about graphics. It's about gameplay. Any RPG fan cares absolutely nothing for graphics. WoW has the smoothest most fluent animation of any MMORPG out there. The others feel a bit lagged in terms of controls and the time between firing off a skill and seeing it execute on screen. I still play super mario 64. The game play rocks. I still play lots of old games. Half life 1 and 2 as well. I play them for gameplay, not graphics. Anyone who plays for graphics over gameplay

Its an amazing game. Yes its 15 a month to play like all other mmorpgs. I came from daoc 5+ yrs and this honestly feels like daoc 2. WaRhammer wasa joke, WoW isa joke, (glider ftw though.) Try this game though u need a decent comp to run it and make it worthwhile. This is a mmo' vets kinda game.

I dont get any lag, except for the occasional lagspikes that every game has, its a great game, they merged a bunch of servers so now all servers have big populations, never hard to find groups

Ultima Online's graphics are pretty blah, but UO actually has alot more gameplay content than WoW, and it's not just barely more, it's by alot more. If Warhammer lasts, it will get up there in players justl ike WoW, and if Conan is good, then it will also. But in the end, All MMO's are the same, you just kill shit. The content is what keeps, and increases the player base.

All MMO's are the same, but it's content that keeps players, and since WoW keeps coming out with expansions, it keeps players. Warhammer, i think personally, lacks characters/content, because all DPS chaos look the same, and so on with every class. In WoW every character looks different. Conan might be good, I hadnt played it yet, but I've been around for a while, and I've played hundreds of MMO's and the main downfall for most is in the content. Alot of games just lack players.

WoW was amped up/talked about alot because so many people played the RTS, and alot still do, the "Hero" concept in the RTS's user made maps, where you control a single unit/hero and level him up and was alot of fun, so going on this concept, WoW was invented, and yeah it's pretty cool, but alot of people think WoW is the best. It's not, its the fact that it has alot of ideas/concept/gameplay options to keep you busy just long enough to keep from getting bored to quick.

lol, kids and female elves, that's what got WoW at the start. Half of these WoW players dont even know that there was an RTS, and even the Warcraft RTS wasnt first. Warhammer actually had board games before the Warcraft RTS. WoW is just a bunch of small, good ideas put together..That's about it, there's nothing really special, as all the combat is hack and slash, and there's no real skill required other than pushing a 1-9 key or hopping around trying to land more hits than your target.

I have played alot of diffrent mmo's 8 total.
My latest MMO was WOW i played it for 2 years with my wife, it was a really good MMO.
But i did not like everything, like the pvp it was a bit boring.
I have played Shadowbane and if you compare it with WOW pvp, wow pvp is worthless, anyway the pve was awesome !
Well after around 2 years AOC came me and my wife just had to try it !
And i can only say OMG !
Its AWESOME !
One of the best mmo's ive played :)
