  • Unfortunately for Anne, the King really loved Seymour.

  • @leomnyc i think that he loved anne.

the final episode when the king was seeing the "ghosts" of his wives, when Anne showed up, she was the only wife that he pleaded with to stay. He didn't want her to leave.

    That was true passion.

Johnathan and Natalie did an AMAZING job translating that passion onto the screen.

    Screw Jane.

  • @endafirlif17 It was recorded that the real Henry only loved Jane, and since she died after childbirth, he was even more heartbroken.

The problem I have with this is that she was tried for witchcraft, not adultery... He wasn't loyal, but in real facts, Anne was.

  • @endafirlif17 In the ghost scene, he never asked Anne not to go... he says 'Anne please don't' because he had turned around to find her gone.

  • @leomnyc i highly doubt he loved jane. He used her to get a son. In real life, he had to choice between the life of his son or Jane, and he chose for Jane to die. Is that love? I dont think so!

  • @Boleyn96019 That isn't true, that was a myth. In the end he never had to make the choice because the baby came naturally. Jane died less than a fortnight after, so she didn't die straight after the birth.

  • Natalie Dormer plays the best Anne Boleyns role!!!

  • THAT IS NOT HOW YOU PRONOUNCE 'TUDORS'. it's just disrespectful.

  • Showtime seriously needs to make one about Marie Antoinette next!! :)

  • I stopped watching this show after Anne died. I only watched for her.

  • @hothotheat3000 There's another episode at the end of the season where she comes back as a ghost

  • As long as I live, there will never be a scandalous passion so delicious as that of Henry Tudor VIII and Anne Boleyn. Simply divine! (OK...that's the end of my 19th Century jargon) These two are hooootttt!!!!

  • I think that the tudors wanted to be a series that are interesting to anyone. They wanted to show passion and something interesting to the people. Do you think they were going to be that suceed if they were dressed exactly like a Tudor and make the story as it is really?

  • People, anyone that REALLY KNOW the Tudor's history, knows that The other Boleyn Girl is a history murder (terrible, ridiculous, the book author know nothing about Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII, etc), and The Tudors is a very nice serie, but there are some terrible mistakes too.

Henry was 10 years older than Anne, and there are a lot of other things...

In my opinion Geneviève Bujold is the better Anne Boleyn. Natalie Dormer acts very well, but she doesn't looks like Anne Boleyn

  • Natalie was the greatest Anne Boleyn.

  • I hated the clothes in the film 'The Other Boleyn Girl' the clothes in this are much nicer :)

  • No, Anne you don't deliver a son, but you deliver the best English Queen.

  • can you tell me how is called the song in the backgrond??

  • Anne Boleyn played by Natalie Dormer is so attractive! One important factor to make this show succeeds.

  • Henry become "fat & ugly" because he had diabetes....that's why his leg wound never healed. There is new research to indicate that Mary and Margaret Tudor also had diabetes & no one knew how to treat it. Henry liked sweets & was thristy all the time. It would also explain some of his strange behavior as he got older. Ms Dormer did a wonderful job as Ann Boleyn, I wept when Ann was beheaded & Miss Boleyn was not a sympathetic character to me before this show.

  • I actually like both...the thing is Natalie D was able to embody Anne B for a much longer period of time, thyere was waaay more depth that was given to her role since it was / is a series.. I think Portman would be just as good ....I do love both woman ...but I have become a huge fan of dormer since this series... I cant get enough of King Henry the viii and his wives, also Elizabeth the 1st I would love to see a series on her life as well.

  • I hated all the sex scenes unfortunately. I didn't think it was necessary to see Henry bonking everything with a skirt. I was more interested in his intellect and leadership skills, ohhhh and his beauty!!!!!!!!!

  • @vivianmendoza100 I think they showed all the sex scenes to empahsize the fact that he was a huge womanizer...that was a big part of who he was.

  • Natalie Dormer is the most beautiful woman ever! And the best actress :*:*:*

  • Why wold it be homosexual? This man has a very rich heterosexual life, 6 wives and many women on the side...I guess it IS good to be KING! :)

  • homosexual?? what?? O.O

  • this is extrremely creepy because im learning about all of this in history and there is a tv show based on it.. LOL

  • @fweedtasticis this show will not teach you history

it will teach you about softcore pornography though

  • i am a tudor fan and i love anne because she is so sorta cool and pretty and feisty.

i have been interested in tudors since i was six and i am now 14. Bit sad but i dont get too nerdy over it! :) xxx

  • I love Anne Boleyn too! She was amazing woman!

  • ohh guess what? im meeting phillippa gregory author of the other boleyn girl next saturday and i have already met david starkey and simon schama

  • @adriana21p i agree

  • well, honestly, who would watch the show if it had a fat red head prancing around and yelling at people? lol

  • he became fat and ugly in the end of his reign before he was reallllllyyyy sexy (I heard that)

  • the tudors isnt FULLY accurate, but my count it IS the most accurate thing i have seen on henry 8th and his wives.

sure not every single detail is correct - but we dont know everything about them.

its the most factual, plus entertaining. and for all of you who disagree with johnathon as henry - understand BUT i think they are trying to show the king through the peoples eyes at that period - handsome and athletic.

  • I agree. I am a big fan of Tudor history and even thugh this isn't the most accurate thing out there it is extremely entertaining.

  • The Other Boleyn Girl is not accuate at all. Even this is more accurate thn the film and book.

  • ya deberian de saber que el rey era un impotente y homosexual ademas de ambicioso y sin escrupulos

  • the other boylen girl was good but it is nothing compared to the tudors the tudors is more factual i meanin the other bolyen girl they made out that mary was a sweet inocent girl when she was actually a great whore it was also never proved that her son was henrys and the made anne sem like an absoulute bitch.

  • how can you prove her son was henry's, they didn't exactly have DNA tests

  • I think the book the Other Boleyn Girl follows Tudor history better than the movie.

  • i think that that film shows the personal histories of the boleyn girls better however this series shows the politics behind everything which is much more valuable.

  • The Tudors is realy about histrory but The other Boleyn girl just about love,in the other Boleyn girl you will not find any fact from histrory :)

  • which is better?

the other boleyn girl or the tudors?

  • The Tudors, by far. Both have their positive and negative attributes, but The Other Boleyn Girl makes a critical error. Anne Boleyn was, in fact, the little sister to Mary. Philippa Gregory insists that she doesn't distort facts; yet in several of Elizabeth I's letters to her cousin, Catherine Carey, she writes "your mother [being Mary Boleyn], my mother's older sister."

Gregory ignores historical fact for the sole purpose of entertainment. It's not a bad thing, but it is unfortunate.

  • Indeed I agree, I mean I thought it was marry that was beyond beuatiful, and Ann was just plain looking!! I don't remember her beging so beautiful!! that is not the reason why the King fell in love with her, and I don't think that Ann was that much of a whore, I mean she teased him, a lote, and kissed him, she did not give herself that easly to him, she wanted him to work for it, she still was very prideful on her virginty in both movie versions of the B Sisters!!.

  • johnathon rhys meyers is hot!!!!!!!!

  • absolutely great!

  • although i love the show i ave 2 say dat sum of it isnt factualy correct but then dats wat u get wen americans try 2 tell a story of a king dats wasnt theres.

did u know dat anne and henry dated 4 6 yrs b4 they finaly married in 1533 he was 44 yrs old and then 3 yrs later she was beheaded

  • er... last time i checked, all the cast is pretty much Europeans (Wales, England, Ireland...).

  • americans aren't involved with this.

cheerleader4lyfe235 is right, the casts are europeans.

  • I've read that the person in charge of the writing or direction of the series only has the series being about 70% accuracy.

Like Anne's sister's (Mary's) son Henry doesn't die until *after* Anne has been beheaded, from what I remember and read.

  • Mary's son Henry is not in this series. You may be thinking of Henry Fitzroy, Henry's first son, mothered by Bessie Blount. He died in July 1536, correct; not as a child, as shown here.

  • Sorry everyone, my comments never seem to go after the ones that I reply to! I was responding to whomever commented on the death of Mary Boleyn's son. I apologize.

  • I love how he fell in love with eCHOTHER but not just love an obesssion WITH ONe another but the obession consumed them then distroyed them

  • I agree. Natalie Dormer is ten times a better Anne Boleyn than NP. She's alot pretty too. I think that Scarlett Johanssen would have made a good Jane Seymour.

  • WHat did her father say at the beginning of the video ?

  • "Those eyes of yours are like dark hooks for the soul."

  • Gosh out of all Tudor series AND movies this shows Henry VIII at his best and letting us see him as a gentle man but a powerful ruler!!!

Only seen one eposide but it looks like i will have to have them ALL!!!!!!

  • i think natalie dormer plays the role of Anne Bolyn way better than Natalie Portman did!!!

  • I agree! natalie portman make anne look like she is weak but in the series natalie dormer make anne look very powerfull

  • as do i

  • u suree do jonny

  • thats right. natalie portman really played her, like Anne was weak.

I didn't like the other boleyn girl very much.

  • OMG! IKR, and in the book THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL, Anne is SO complex and interesting and cunning and capable: Natalie Portman made Anne look like a little girl and as if she isn't strong as she was in real life!

  • @Misslucy000 I agree 100%

  • @Misslucy000

yes! I hated the clothes in the other boleyn girl also.

  • @Misslucy000 yes but admit it that movie was wayyy more acurate than this

  • One of the best shows to grace TV since the Sopranos. Rome was good too. I like period pieces in general but Showtime has really outdone themselves with the Tudors. The great thing about it is that people also learn a little history while glued to the TV. I can't wait until the 3rd season starts! Everything about this show is great from the scripts, music, actors (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers & Natalie Dormer!), COSTUMES (WOW the costumes!!), I can't find anything wrong with it. AWESOME! Total addict!

  • THE BEST FOREVER

  • This looks really good I am so upset that I don't have Show Time darn it lol, heheheh so is Tudor's is it like on Youtube like the hole Series or 1 series anyways I really want to watch it lol, does anyone know were I can watch it for free?

  • bbc iplayer!

  • That is were I can watch it? if it is on BBC iplayer? what is that? do I have to get it or is it a site?

  • go on the net and download bbc iplayer

  • i don't know if you have any canadian channels, but itis on tuesday nights at 9 pm on cbc.

  • Natalie Dormer played the role oh Anne so well ! I just love her ! And her beauty , there's no words !

  • mm they r all hotttttttttt as hell in the tudors

    yumm luvv it

  • i have to DISAGREE! I think that NATALIE PORTMAN rocked as Anne Boleyn! I so loved her there! She was the prettiest manipulative slut in the world and it worked! BRAVO!

  • i so agree with you...Natalie Portman was THE bomb!!!

but we need to give The Other Natalie Girl a credit....

  • there are no surviving paintings of anne boleyn from that time period so no one can really know what she loked like its more of how she carried herself that people recognize her in paintings today.

  • there is one. By Lucas Hornboute circa. 1525, and a medal that was probably struck in commemoration for the birth of a son that never happened

  • Natalie is an amazing actress. She so should have played anne in the movie instead of natalie portman. It would have been better.

  • I completely agree. Portmans performance was luke warm and seemed more of a brat instead of a passionate woman.

  • I don't know what they are doing with the editing of this. Some scenes seems like they are distorted while others look fine. Is anyone else noticing this?

  • Henry did love Ann Boleyn but she thought she could control him and found out to her cost she couldnt,It was really her family behind her marrying him as it was about money and power,he most probably have been better off with her sister mary,at least she gave him a son.Boleyns verses Seymours basically.

  • thats totally the "Other Boleyn Girl" version of events. Anne really tried to get as far away from Henry as she could in real life. Plus Mary's son wasn't the Kings. All historical evidence points to the fact the affair had been long over when he was born, plus if he was the kings son, a lot more fanfair would have been made over it like with Henry Fitzroy.

  • I don't know. If he had loved her, probably he would never have ordered her death. It's difficult to judge a historical character.

  • Did Henry actually, like genuinely love Anne?

  • lol, this movie basically ivolves around sex and love and betrail

    its awesome

  • natalie is one of the most beautiful woman ever shes got a sinister beauty

  • Love Natalie!! she is amazing and pretty too!!

  • does anyone notice how jonathan rhys meyers voice sounds when he asks anne boleyn who she is it doesnt sound like him

  • you sure its him who asks her?? it doesnt sound like him alright but he has different accents..

  • He is irish...his accent probably came out on accident or something...i dunno

  • yes and over weight

  • no, he became over weight towards the very end of their marrige, which was almost ten years after they first met ( his marrige lasted three years, the courting-7) get your history right.

  • He gained weight for a combination of reasons, one was his depression over not having a son and another reason was he had a leg injury that bothered him the rest of his life, right before Anne's last miscarriage. Before then, he was very athletic.

  • Old? He was only 36 when she met him!

  • Wow, Natalie Dormer is quite pretty.
