After watching more than a dozen of these videos, it is obvious that planes can be uncontrollable "within a blink of an eye": (as one pilot expresssed it). Better design to expand the margin of safety and improved computer oversight of the flight parameters are needed. Autopilots are far from being programmed sufficiently to deal with these emergencies.
scarface0359 is correct. The flight instruments (attitude both sides) were indicating correctly except for the airspeed indicator. The captain should have co-related his power setting with the climb he was getting at the aircraft's attitude and sorted this out. His delayed understanding sent the climbing aircraft into a stall when the power was pulled back.
Reminds me of the Air France crash of the Airbus 330, pilots failed to deal with basic instrument failures properly and stalled, truly insane. If you lose airspeed indicators or they conflict you fly attitude and power! Also you can use GPS groundspeed and adjust for wind. Pilots need more advanced upset and recovery training, current is inadequate, I know I have three jet type ratings to ATP standards and it is a joke what they teach you compared to more advanced programs that are optional.
@wayneg67 Can you please explained please what you mean by ....( you fly altitude and power ) .And also the use of GPS groundspeed and adjust for wind ) .I am not very knowledgable in aviation term .Thank you :)
@misteeq64 If you lose airspeed data or it is unreliable, you should know what power setting and attitude of the aircraft will keep her flying safely level above stall but under redline. The GPS ground speed is highly accurate but must be adjusted for wind, so if you have a 100 knot headwind and it says 220 knots, you are flying a true airspeed of 320 knots or in reverse if 100 knot tail wind you are flying at 110 knots true airspeed.
you should allways use your head and think what is the most making sense about things! for example if plane start going up then truts that instrument which tell you the same and also to other instrument if that rell you the same, but don't truth that or those who don't tell you the truth! it is easy to say from hear, from cround and me who is not a pilot and has never been situation like they had! but don't continue your flight etc if everytihng is not right!
why he (the captain) was so stupid, stuper / selfish that doing so!? others were probably fealing to be too unexperiend to say anything more about that situation, but they should have done that or at least first officer to say "what about ending the flight sir?" or "should we end /stop the flight?" and not say "v one!" maybe he didn't notice to say about that!? God knows why and everything! there should be allways fair enviroment to work, that errors is ruled out or in minimum!
so sad! you should have one believer in the plane or in the bus or train etc who is close with God or is at least a believer full filled by Holy Spirit or not (a real believer is enough), that he or she or they would ask from Him (God) to assist or help or protect them or being a leader to pray with everone who is on board that everything would go well or not everone wouldn't die etc! captain shoul have stop the flight inmeadetly when there was an error on his side airspead indicator!
in Finland you can't wear classes to fly a plane or also if you want to be a cop! and that's is stupid in my poin a vivew! i have want to fly and maybe i still do, but i have classes so i can't or even be a cop, what i don't want to be! why you can't wear classes in Finland if you are a captain or first officer or cop!? i don't know why! maybe it is safety rule!? i can understand that if you are a cop and that you need accurate vision, and in plane too, but with classes it would work too!
Dumb ass captain should have known right away that it was a mistake to reduce thrust by the plane's reaction. And perhaps his airspeed indicator was wrong. After all, his was incorrect at take off. It was like my instrument was right and yours was wrong.By the time he came around to it and gave it power, it was too late.
I've had 5 driving accidents since I got my drivers license and I am still here. You don't get those kinds of odds in an airplane. The only reason they tell you to lower your head and brace yourself is to let you know that while you're down there, you can kiss your ass goodbye.
Any pilots here? What I dont undersatnd is: When you have a situation where the airspeed indicators seem to go crazy, why cant you have SOME idea of the ACTUAL airspeed by looking at the thrust lever positions? Why not level out the plane and guess the speed by the thrust setting? In a car, if I'm in 5th gear and pedal full down I would know more or less what speed im going regardless of the spedometer.
_Even if they were commited to the take-off...instead of just sitting
there trying to figure out problems ( 05:50 ), wondering why / how
and saying idiotic things like: "Both of them are wrong. what can
we do?" Let's check their circuit breakers", they should have just
returned to the airport. ` Talk about stupidity.
It's bad enough the pitot tubes weren't covered when the plane
sat on the ground for days, these pilots lacked common sense
in the air._
