I saw these guys at the old Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, Texas in about '79 and they rocked the place out...great live show...played for hours...I remember dancin' my ass off.
'Real Enough To Love' from 1979 Phonetics lp, is one of the most stunning track i've ever listened in my life, but not uploaded yet,,,i'll rip it from my vinyl soon and up
I just noticed this is available for download from Amazon. I hereby resolve to purchase it this weekend. Loved it back in the day, and it still sounds great.
Saw this band play backup at a Peter Gabriel concert at the Uptown theater in Chicago, late 70's. I bought this record, and played it a lot back then...
I got into Jules because I also play guitar Left handed with a righty guitar simply turned over. I never expected to find an artist this good and tasteful. Thanks for posting laaz84. I wish I could meet a Jules Shear fan in real life, face to face.
I have a feeling I am in good company with the other comment posters.
bostweed, their third "lost album", Bad For Business, did finally get released in 97...should be out there to find...try Wounded Bird Records or Amazon. GREAT STUFF!!
Love this album. It also features the song "Convict", which houses my favorite lyric of all time: "The nice thing about true hopelessness / is that you don't have to try again".

Perfect pop. Jules and Bears were the best. This was the soundtrack to my life in those days, we were young and wild....
