  • Fuck you nigger

  • Wow, a lot of things happened since you posted this. There was no controversy over Pacquiao's victory yesterday. I think the possible scenarios and controversies have been laid to rest. Now who's next?

  • yep, quite a few things have happened since then. I love to reflect back and see how I view things as opposed to how they actually happen. Helps going forward. We have to see what happens next, but i cant wait!

  • It was a one sided beatdown... nuff said

  • I'm an avid fan of both Cotto and Pacquiao, but feel certain that unless Cotto puts PacMan on the canvas (several times) the judges will give PacMan the nod. Fact of the matter is, PacMan has the bigger fan base and would be the easier opponent for Mayweather. If Cotto should win I'm expecting Mayweather to decline to fight because of a supposed lack of interest/ money.

Pacquiao as great as he is, is made to order for a guy like Mayweather who would counter all night for an easy decision.

  • If it goes to points, they will defo favour Pacman because when he fights, nations stand still. Apparently crime is non existent in the Philippines for the hour or so that Pacman is in the ring fighting.

Boxing is corrups. Cotto has to knock him out, and I think he can.

I think Cotto and Pacquiao are both awesome fighters, I just hope there is fairness.

Good blog Vivek (even thought it took you ages to tell us what you were going to talk about at the start of the vid!!)

  • loved the comment made by Ted Sares on ESB, the other good writer besides Mr. V Wallace,

"Both have one punch Knock Out power, though in my opinion, Cotto is stronger than Pac Man at this weight and if he connects flush, he could send Pac Man back to General Santos City faster than you can say Boricua. But Pacquios ability to send Cotto to Caguas dreamland should not be underestimated. It will be interesting to see what happens when Miguel tests Manny with his first rattling body shot."

  • interesting to see Sares choose pacman over Cotto, based mostly on speed and intangibles, and i agree with the damage done to cotto by margacheato, whether or not margo cheated is not the question, the fact remains the punishment sustained by cotto is one of those things in boxing that only real wars measure, wear and tear is a biaatch!

  • I truly think cotto is set up to be doomed. arum totally favors pacman and that is just a fact. but besides that i think boxing needs to go back to the winner takes all well the bigger percentage. this will make fighters be held accountable to how they fight and give them motivation to keep it out of the judges hands will give less power to the promoters to sway score cards

  • like your vid bruv, I hope nothing dodgy goes on in this fight. I personally dont think this fight will go the distance simply because you got two of the best fighters in the world that just love to throw bombs and have exciting fights but you never know. the possibility of a big money fight with floyd could influence the judges if it goes the distance. Either way this is going to be a great fight. I wish there were more fighters like pac/cotto who arent afraid of anyone or getting a loss

  • If theres no Knock out on either side most probably the decision would go to pacquiao but hopefully it will be because pacquiao throws and lands more punches than cotto otherwise it would really be very dissappointed.

  • I'm sure that Cotto's fans did not mind that Cotto got the decisionon the Clottey fight. I don't think that this is a fair issue for Manny. It looks like Manny have no other recourse, but to KO Cotto to be look at as a legitimate winner of the fight. It looks like Manny is in a no win situation (respect wise), the only way he can win in everybody's eyes (both Filipino and Puert Rican fans) is a KO or a TKO. Is that fair? We can look at it on different points of view.

  • I dont think that's accurate. If Pacquiao is able to land more clean punches and it goes the distance, he will have the respect of everybody, including puertoricans. Only if Cotto clearly wins the decision but they give it to Manny then he won't get the respect he might want.

But by boxing politics, common sense says that no matter what happens, if it goes the distance, they will give it to Manny(fair or not) Just to set up a megafight with Mayweather. Cotto is the one that needs a KO to win

  • freddie roach already knows how cotto fight and he stated in the article he read their will a strict regulation rule where if cotto decides to try to play dirty if it doesnt go miguel way.that the ref has to give the first warning as soon as it seen.plus roach is trying to protect manny so coach roach wants a clean fight from cotto.cause cotto tends to go for the low blows and hit behind the head

  • I am a Pacquiao fan and I agree to what you are saying. If Manny happens to win, I would like this win to be untainted. I would like to see a clean and fair fight.

  • Mario i agree 100% with u, there is something in the air about this whole fight and they are already talking about a rematch (only if Cotto wins) if Manny wins no matter how close they will move on.

  • to me a rematch is not automatic for both fighters. We have to see how the fight was fought by both guys. It has to be very close for me to agree that a rematch is in order (it does'nt matter who wins, Pacquiao or Cotto).

  • yeah Man ! that makes sense, i'm a Filipino and a fan of Manny Pacquiao, but i also like Cottos' ability in Boxing. Hope they would strictly screen Judges and Refs so each would have nothing to do with Nationality or Countries where both the Boxers come from , (no Bias)= (Fair Decisions). and Please only get Judges with lots of Experience. Peace ! PC

  • the same could've been said about Manny vs Hatton. Had manny fought hatton and the decision was close, they probably wouldve given it to Hatton because it was billed east v west. In Cotto v Clottey, Clottey I feel won that fight against Cotto. So this is a moot argument. Just show up and do your thing.

  • You don't have to worry about that coz manny will show tha whole world how he gonna knock out cotto in 5th rd

  • ...on the other hand, wouldn't hyping that theory now tilt the balance towards Cotto, with the judges/referee thinking "if I give the decision to Manny people will think I am biased and cheating"...

Damned if you do, damned if you dont...

  • Well, I'm another puerto rican fight fan about to give you a third reason to believe Cotto won't get a decision against Pacquiao, this is Cotto's last fight on his Top Rank contract and they have been giving Cotto a bit of a hard time for this fight (I mean a catchweight tittle bout, WTF?)

  • A Cotto victory over Pacquiao means no Pacquiao-Maywther (at least not in the near future) also meaning that Cotto may be taking his tittle to a different promotion, tittles are a good bargaining chip for big fights

There's too much at stake for Top Rank with a Cotto victory over Pacquiao, so IMO Cotto's just not meant to win this fight, he's gonna have to do it the hardway... KO

Good luck and thanks for the vid

  • actually Cotto renewed his contract with Top Rank (reason he got this fight, big payday). He is still under contract with TR for 2 more fights ( I belive).

  • bcuz of the big money fight... pac vs floyd... I agree... cotto cannot win a decision in a CLOSE fight. but cotto CAN win a decision. people make it seem that cotto cant win a decision even if he wins every round... people are jus gettin paranoid. but i ADMIT... if its a CLOSE fight that goes the distance... they most likely will give it to pac.

  • Whoever sez Cotto will knock out Pacquiao OMG Pacquiao has had the toughest fight he is considered as a veteran of the Ring do you think its gonna be that easy to knock him out ,I DONT THINK SO ! and the claim that Cotto will not be hurt with Manny's punches , hmmmm ,I wonder what would happen to him if a hundred of those punches would land on his face ,I believe even Superman could feel that ,LOL

  • do not expect descision in favor of cotto if he punch to slooooow.Of corz the Pacman punch 7combos in one second ! Only slow motion camera can see the throws.

  • don't worry pacquiao will KO cotto on the 5th. cotto will try and neutralize pacman's speed by counter punching (as he did against mosley) and cutting pacman's movement across the ring but pacquiao will be too quick for the slow cotto. pacquiao will hurt cotto early, most probably knock him down or give him a cut and cotto will punch below the belt as usual. but pacman will KO cotto on the 5th, the latest on the 9th.

  • Hello brother, Make sense but I think it wont reach to that point.. The fight will be decided whose going to be knock out or a unanimous decision by one dominant fighter base on the number of points accumulated by one fighter.

  • He defense to offense took to long and that is ring knowledge, i guy got caught with a stiff jab and went to the floor, once againg, Cotto was doing things that made Clottey think twice about barging in, Clottey was way bigger, then bring it, Clottey is a hell of a fighter and I actually think he will beat Mosley, but he did not capatalized and this press sympathy only comes to fighters that have fall short on all big events...I'll keep watching..buddy I love Boxing Peace

  • The fight with Strum and Oscar was a lot more for Sturm, Cottey and Cotto was not as near, Miosley Cotto was Closer, just because Clottey shaked his head like he was not getting hurt he was still getting hit, and when asked he could not finish cotto out because quote:' He a danger fighter , he could still hurt me"...Clottey, so He had his chance give it a rest!

  • I have watched a few videos from you and have lot's of respect for your opinion as well as many other writers and colunmnist, but this is word for mouth on the Cotto Clottey fight outcome...85% writers 9 out 10, were did you got the numbers, you are a writer write facts, get me true info, i write myself, not as good as you, but your source is who, you have asked 100 writers, buddy even Dan Rafael said Cotto won among other writers...I think you want Floy vs Pacquiao and not Cotto.

  • i can respect your opinion totally, but dont talk to me about Dan Rafael. he's in the pocket of a few promoters and would never rock that boat. i dont do politics. i call what i see. The funny thing is that if u follow my work, you'll know that i was the writer who published a prediction the day of the fight that said clottey would do enuf to win but wouldnt get the nod. that's exactly what happened. to say it was close, ok, but those scores were horrendous

  • I was fighter myself for a while, but i was also a warden and politics is my field as well as the sport I LOVE For Many YEARS. She you said he would do enought, but do truly believe he did enough, come on Vivek, you know that the if you want someones championship belt you have to prove it, knocke him out, show that you want it, just because afighter back pedals does not mean he is not scoring points, and it was not like clottey was taking the fight to him, his transaction from defense to offense

  • WTF are you talking about when you say 'Cotto shouldn't have gotten the decision against Clottey' ?

That's BS. He def. deserved the victory.

  • If that's your opinion, that's fine and i won't argue. But i'll tell you this, about 85% of the writers on hand at the fight and people around the globe saw another outcome...definitely not as far-fetched as the score cards seemed to indicate. so youre free to have your opinion, but at the end of the day, the majority felt that way for a reason.

  • That certainly is my opinion. You know why? Because I was present at MSG for that fight. That's right, I dished out $100 to be there, and I saw the fight first hand. I am by no means insisting that it was a whitewash or a blowout, however the consensus amongst most of those with half brain, is that Cotto certainly deserved the decision.

  • Have you watched it on tv, because remember, the tv angle is far greater than what you see from your seat at a venue. that's the one thing i dont like about covering fights live. i always have to come home and watch them on DVR to see the best angles. as a member of the media we sit very close but the angles are still poor in comparison to a television angle that's always perfect.

  • I don't think you have to worry about bullshit politriking with this fight, Miguels delivering a KO.

With that said, i'd still like to see Pac/Floyd.... it'd be cheaper too :D

  • i dont think this will go 12 rounds i want cotto to win but its could go either way, on current form u hav 2 say the pacman, but cotto has alot 2 prove after the clottley fight and margarito fight cotto needs 2 establish himself again. i hope cotto does win this bcoz every1 is riding pacmans dick.

  • most people think Cotto beat Clottey close but clear. Odds are the judges will be fair.

  • well hear this another notion, judge will favor manny over cotto for a decision bcoz... cotto-gayweather will never gonna happen coz gayweather will retire again, he will dodge this fighters and wait till another small guy to come in with a lot of money potential... thats how gayweather does his boxing business... gayweather thinks and sees manny as sure money, and this would be his fallllll.... manny will beat gayweathers face and kiss the canvass...

  • politics!i was just thinking what if...floyd beats marquez.pac intentionally will get a controversial split win over cotto.then floyd is interested in fighting pac because of pac's poor performance.but if...marquez wins over floyd, then there is no need for pac to let the fight with cotto go the distance.if cotto wins, and it should be by ko,then floyd i think will retire for good.but if marquez wins over floyd then it will also be a good match-up...a catchweight for cotto-marquez.

  • The only reason I want pacquiao-mayweather to push through is just because I want to see mayweather gets badly beaten. Now, I am not saying I'm 100% sure manny will win against floyd, but right now, manny is the only guy who can brutally beat up floyd. Marquez may win but I think it would only be through a decision... and that's no fun at all. Sorry for floyd fans but I really think he deserves a beating hehe

  • if clottey tag cottos face several times...

then pacquiao can do it 10X more with destructive power..pacquiaos punches at 140 lbs to 150 lbs weight is destructive...look what happened to hatton

  • Hatton is not Clottey

  • i think pacquiao will win by KO, his left straight is so fast and powerful that cotto will not be able to defend against it..cottos defensive stance is very dangerous for pacquiaos left straight

  • i wanna know what you think about the ODLH/forbes fight. ive wtached it and oscar won it hands down! this is another excuse just incase cotto loses a close D.

  • A ROCKET SCIENTIST must have figured out those two notions...

    WOW!

I am buying this fight for the KO possibility by either PACMAN or COTTO!!!! If not, I want to see PACMAN VS. MAYWeahter!!! COTTO who?

  • I agree bro. We don't need no drama associated with this fight. But personally, i don't think it's goin' the distance. These guys are too strong.
