SAE J1319 rear fog lamp; - mandate into FMVSS-108.
(World Reg for same: UNECE 38).
Crazy the US hasn't mandated this lamp function yet. Cheap life insurance that prevents or reduces severity of crash impact, when under heavy fog, torrential rain, in dustorms and blizzards et al.
Standard taillights are worthless under such conditions, install a rear fog lamp if you remotely give a damn about your family.
Carry a safety vest in the car in case, warning triangle ditto.
Driving on that HWY is horrible. What they didn't show is that some parts of that road are extremely steep and it's in the mountains. So on one side it's life a 70 ft + drop off a cliff. Not to mention the traffic is almost always traveling at 85 - 95 mph.
Everytime it's not bright and sunny, there are at least 10 multivehicle pile ups. Well there are at least 10 multivehicle pile ups when it is nice and hazy.
That's because these dumb broads have to dial out on whatever now when they jump in their SUVs before the SUVs do a belly up on some major freeway.
Sometimes you really wish you can toss someone over a bridge for holding up traffic.
no. The way people drive in socal is fucking RETARDED. Which is why I do not live there.
They dial out the minute they turn on the engine, dive to the opposite side of the freeway without using a turn signal when you're forced behind some Mexican in a truck going 45 mph in the fast lane. Well, that's when traffic is moving.
The rest of the time, you're just sitting there for an hour and a half just to go 5 miles. That's if you're unlucky not to have two other ways home.
