Willie Dixon, an ancient master of the art of blues composed 'Hey Joe'. Hendrix had top ten with it in the U.K in 1967 if I remember correctly. It got a big boost as the B side of the single release of Voodoo Chile released within days of his sad demise . Was the first bass line I ever learned. Damn fine song!!!
@MegaBanjaluka Sorry but the author is Billy ROBERTS and the great Jimi has released his version in1966 ( B side of the single"Stone free")...Don't kill yourself ERRARE HUMANUM EST
@LSDJanis No problem Janis. It's just that I had 7" single issued in U.K.in 1967,and I seriously thought it showed W. Dixon as author. Maybe I should lay off the red wine a bit. P.S. Thanks for not adopting abusive language and personal insults as unfortunately many participants seem to do!!!
P.S. I have no intention of shuffling off this mortal coil just yet!
Saw them in Tampa on this tour. All acoustic set was painfull, this was one of the electric guitar songs! Pete evokes all kinda emotion and power on electric guitar and although a great acoustic guitarist it doesn't match his electric prowess.
I saw this live and for me this was the highlight of the show.... I mean, while The Who was on stage. That guitar guy in the cowboy hat that opened was pretty good too, though. :)
just as well e c hasn't covered this lol ?

Great!
And do you have the recording of the next one in the tracklist - 'Born on the Bayou'??... That would be a treat to hear!
