  • I often wonder what Bono and the boys think when they see themselves in video 25-30+ years ago, when they were on the brink of world domination and they didn't know then what they know now. Thanks for the post, I love seeing all things U2, but especially things from the good old days when they were just so exciting and YOUNG!

  • this was a different u2 then. I personally love this track the way bono sings his high notes and edge ripping those cords from his six strings.

  • Long live Palestine.

  • @manconoo

    Feck Palestine

  • This song is absolutely fantastic. It has such a power to it, and a beautiful energy

  • Excellent song, especially base and guitar bridges and chorus

  • thanks for posting,i had just got into U2 when this came out amazing

  • Aaaah, takes me back.... good days. Knew 30 years ago they'd stand the test of time.

  • Funny to see a Confederate Flag on the back of Larry's shirt

  • when we were young and u2 were really u2! peace to you all

  • No band has ever been like them-I love their music!

  • i loved you u2 punk and raw listen to adams bass just awsome

  • What a great song! Timeless....and appropriate especially in light of events going on right now!

  • awesome song!

also they were so cute then. :)

  • Jerusalem and all the problems have remained. Perhaps they can apply themselves to something without publicity :)

  • Doc says "with a shout"....Shawn on The Mountain... we can go to place only we know...Shout it out! JERUSALEM TOP O' THE MOUNTAIN...

  • U2 is amazing!!! i lovee the album october! what gets me wondering though, is that Bono does so much in Africa to help the people there... in this video, Larry Mullen Jr. is wearing a jacket with a confederate flag on the back, hahaha its kinda funny. he is an amazing drummer!

  • the civil war wasnt about just slavery dude. people in the north were going to buy all the slaves freedom.

  • This is so awesome live! Do it on 360 tour this year boys! :)

  • @dragmio Edge said in a interview that he'd be happy to never hear this song again. too bad - it f-n rocks.

    #@!

  • This is a forgotten song.

  • ++Awesome++ thank you

  • Oh my...check out all that hair the u2 boys had back then! And Adam's 'do is killing me (kind of 'Big Bird-ish')!!!!!!!!!:D

  • In a lower key than the record though. The version on October really sends chills with the notes Bono hits.

  • it's my favorite song of october :D

  • wow...you are watching the greatest rock drummer of all time.mullen jr.

  • Listened to October for the first time in years the other day. It's brilliant forgot how good it was!

  • A mi me encanta este tema =)

  • When I watch this I smile a feet wide, just like U2 guys when they go way back and see this. They were punk rock noise makers trying to play symphonic anthems. Like church anthems played by Boomtown Rats or The Clash. Funny like hell. 20/21 year-olds.

  • Great vid!!! U2 in 82... i has 15 years old... My times of school... my first passion, love... and my first LP of U2 (October)in my vacation in the beach. Good times and songs more intense...

    Thanks from Brazil, Puppibanana! :D

  • nigelxman relax w/ SOMEONE THINKING LARRY M. IS THE GREATEST DRUMMER IN THE WORLD. MAYBE HE IS,TO THAT PARTICULAR PERSON, BESIDES ALL THOSE DRUMMERS U LISTED CAN'T COMPARE TO THE LIKES OF A BUDDY RICH OR MAX ROACH ,GENE KRUPA,ART BLAKEY......

  • Which DVD was this from? I want!

  • Unfortunately it's a bootleg. I'd love it if they had a concert DVD from this early in their career.

  • al fin la encontre!!!! me encanta esta cancion!!!...ojala subieras mas canciones de ste concierto....saludos

  • Excellent song. God bless you U2, you guys are amazing and may God continue to bless you all. I love you all, God bless (smiles).

  • greatest rock drummer of all time...mullen jr

  • I'm curious hosdurga....How may times have you posted that Larry Mullen Jr. is the best rock drummer of all time? U2 is my favourite band of all time but to say that Larry is the best drummer of all time is pretty ridiculous. And more than a little ignorant. You might want to broaden your musical horizons mate. Here are a few drummers you may want to try listening to. Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart.

  • hosdurga is right. Larry Mullen Jr is the "greatest rock drummer of all time"

His techniques, timing and crisp hitting is untouched. Plus he has evolved so much too.

    Nice call mate.

  • An incredible jam that transcends it's Christian lyrics..

  • what's wrong w/ Christian lyrics?

  • they make me feel queasy lol

  • Whenever I see a comment like this, I'm reminded of the Nazi in Raiders of the Lost Ark who's uncomfortable with "Jewish ritual".

  • Gotta say, Bono reminds me of a Christian who has forgotten his roots - all of them ( not the hair :) ).

  • so...so...beAutiful my Bono...I love him when he was young!!

  • I have this concert on DVD and I love it.
