  • amazing, but i have 2 questions: 1° why putting frets and then glueing the neck? i think that it might affect them as clamps are needed to fix the set-neck.(even if frets are leveled after.. but i dont know)

2° the neck is cut with a saw by "free hand" on both sides. how do you regulate straightness?

    thanks!

  • @wnpikoso

    1) Fretting after glueing makes it more difficult to clean the side of the fingerboard and increases risk of damaging the top.

    2) That's only rough work, I rout the sides after that.

  • Ualll... great job!

  • Wow... just visited your gallery on the website.... amazing work.

  • It is very kind of you to share this!

    Very nice basses!

    Tony

  • may i ask what kind of dye you use? i can jsut find the water based stuff, and that is a bit thin in my opinioin, especially if you want to do a natural fake binding like on a PRS.

    Thanks

  • @goodyear2602 It's a thinner-based stain. It has a stronger colour than waterbased dyes. I mix the colours myself.

  • ik weet niet welke mooier is : de rode, of de blauw.. kanonnen zeg

  • I watched this video with my electric bass and he passed out ... Images too gruesome for him! XD

  • WOW real handmade instrument

  • love de look of ur basses man,not 2 shur about de white on de neck though, perfer my necks just natural, how much do ur basses cost?

  • Take on look on our website to see more pics of 'natural' Ellevations. Thanks.

  • just look at de natural bass it looks de bomb but how much does it cost

  • Thanks! You can look under 'stock' to view some prices of different models.

  • beautiful work, but why is the butterfly under the bridge?

  • Hi! Thanks..!

We had the painting done by a dutch artist. He thought it was a nice spot... :)

  • who plays that song??

  • WOW... o-O all of that for just a bass..

    no wonder it's so expensive

  • but it's not 'just a bass'... :-P

  • Its beautiful art and a wonderful instrument.

  • how much would it cost me if you did a bass of those, but just the wooden parts and ship it? i'd install the electronics myself. I live in portugal

    Thanks!

    PS: those basses are wonderful

  • What do you mean? Without pickups and preamp? Or only without preamp..? And do you want us to drill holes for the pots?

    And how many strings..? :)

  • i'm not sure, maybe i'll just get the full bass, and give you a bit more profit :D

and i'd like to have either 5 or 6 strings, depending on the prices.

but everything is still on hold, i'd need to work the money out, just wanna have the idea of how much a custom bass would cost. I'd always had the idea of having a unique one.

    Thanks, cheers!

  • Oh, I understand.. :)

that's clear.. Otherwise you could send us an email so we can send you our newsletter! You could stay informed that way.. :)

    ciao..!

  • A bass like this is between 3750 and 4250 in standard version. The special finish in this video is a lot extra as it is hand painted. But if you look at the video of the 6 string Elevation, that bass would be 4500 for example.

  • Really Nice Instruments. Altough I could live without the buterflies.
