  • Wonderful !

  • fluffy hair :D

  • Is it me.. or does everyone like his hair... CUZ I LOVE HIS HAIR TOO!!! and piano... o3o

  • completely mad

  • 1:52

  • manita arriba si odian a los que se meten a ver vídeos solo para criticar a los pianistas

  • Twitchaholic.

  • look martin leung

  • He sustains the sound until the last possible moment, and then tapers it off so well with the pedal. When I listen to this, I can hear the resonance trailing into the oncoming notes, but he curls each phrase at the end, so it sounds like a thin tail, whipping and whirling softly into the proceding notes. It's hard to explain.

  • @983215ljhlkadbspig6y you've explained it enough, imo.

  • @Ylinets Shut up.

  • he was nomming the entire time XD

  • now back to 9gag...

  • 9 gag

  • Afro: awesome

    Music: flawless

    Passion: unmeasurable

You sir, are an excellent pianist

  • @ONLYuseMEkunai *Jewfro.

  • monumental and brutal perfomance as it should be done. He rather speaks then plays. I also recommend to pay some attantion to imho exact antithesis - Skoryk's "Melody"

    youtube.***com/watch?v=lAut6DGCPxc

    youtube.***com/watch?v=F76Ll0FHe9E

  • That's unreal :D

  • The electricity of the performance caused a problem in the video @ 1:50.

  • tom hanks?

  • @moviesmyway NOT!!

  • @pianoballet12 JOKE!

  • i have no interest in classical music at all i listen to tool ha but this is like nothing else ive heard it makes me want to crush people in a good way that probably doesnt make sense i mean i want to play this music wearing headphones and carrying an ak 47 through the mall lol

  • @flossy26 - You are WHACKED in the head.

  • I wanted to hear the entire piece played by him >.<

  • Actually, I think it works rather well on piano, I mean I can just hear that epic bass trombone in the lower octaves on piano

  • One of these examples of orchestral pieces that just don't work on the piano. Saying that, the rest of the suite sounds pretty good (definitely advise listening to it)

Evgeny gives this a right old go though. Bless him.

  • How I love to hear this. Great music, wonderfull musician.

  • fine ¡¡¡ excelent

  • seems like every classical piano (and in this case nonpiano) piece i ever search for, there's a video of kissin playing this dressed up in his white tux. im assuming its all from one concert? if so, what a hell of a concert!

  • When the piece changes tempo and time signatures the video malfunctions in perfect synchronicity. I wonder if it was intentionally edited that way. And then in the 3/4 section he winks, awkwardly, on beat, at the piano. This is so interesting to watch, even though it is incomplete.

  • @983215ljhlkadbspig6y It is in synch. If you watch the hammers in the piano, the pedaling of it is on par

  • hoi hoi...

  • Comment removed

  • He is such an amateur compared to Yujia Wang and Yundi Li

  • @zerosum88 ok

  • @zerosum88 and you are such an idiot. Moreover, Yundi Li is like a robot, he has technique but has no soul for this music.

  • @inhmn Are you serious? I don't agree with zerosum88 or anything, but you can't honestly believe that Yundi Li is robotic.

  • @fuckingloser1337 yes I do. I don't like his style at all.

  • where can i find the score of this transcription?

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVGENY KISSIN!

  • wow

  • very powerful fingers.

  • Thumbs up if The Simpsons brought you here!!!!

    Because I did

  • @TheMargret123 whoaa which episode??

  • This a better version than the others I have seen

  • Gorgeous...

  • Why not the whole video :(

  • this is hard. damn..

  • he seems Eraserhead

  • amazing, can't find words

  • Prokofiev's music is so incredible. It's is so current that one could put it directly into a FF game or a movie. I dont think one could listen to this performance wihout feeling anything.

  • the only way this guy can be more badass is if his hair was on fire during this.

  • @Zondac56 that would be flaming hairlarious

  • @Zondac56 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah that was good

  • @Zondac56 hahah you got me laughing with that one!

  • Is there a recording of this?

  • sheet music please

  • Simply fatal!

  • Please check out my Glinka performance - I learned it just because of Kissin's recording :)

  • I`m sorry, Kissin is one of the greatest living pianists..............

  • @RichterThePianist - Fully agree, hard to understand that anyone can have negative critics.

  • @RichterThePianist Why would you be sorry?

  • @RichterThePianist Indeed, he improved a lot comparing to 5 years ago :)

  • Great tempo.

  • score of this?

  • that hair X D

  • Gotta love Kissin. This piece must have been easy for him to learn though, it's not that demanding. :)

  • Superlative playing...I love to watch his sensitive, expressive face. Tremendous

drama, power, and emotional intimacy. Thank you for posting and to paulostroff99 for kindly sharing.

  • Lovely playing. TY. medicitv for posting.

  • his song just blew my ears to smithereens

  • I think this sounds rather dry on the piano, compared to the orchestra version. Then again, you can't have everything on the piano.

  • what Act would this be from? i gotta learn this!

  • @shenkeey That's true, but sitting higher means you have to push the keys more rather than use the natural weight of your arms when elbows are just level with the base of the keys. Maybe it's just me but I feel more at one with the piano when I am closer. :) Still, his expression is quite remarkable for a performer of his age. MUCH better than lang lang! :D

  • Does anyone else think he has that stool too high and his hands too high above the keys? I prefer Raymond Fischer's technique I think. Kissin is risking RSI this way.

  • @9215 Kissin's technique is better though! :) With high hands you have better reach and also more freedom; although it takes some time to get used to it :)

  • I love that he adjests his tone so you can almost hear the strings and the woodwind play their parts.

  • I'm not a Kissin fan, I usually get dragged into endless arguments with fellow youtube melomanes about his playing, but I wish to be fair and objective so I admit that this is an excellent performance and it's such a shame that we get to listen only 3 minutes of it!

  • Yes. Of course I don't want a close up of his right hand at 2.10. Why would I? Much better his face.

  • anyone know where the full version of this is please?

  • It looks like he's about to sneeze at 1:56

  • don't you feel like shaving this guys hair off?

  • @wizman619

-.- if you dont like his hair stfu ....

  • Why did they cut the end out?

  • Why do people think he's a genius by playing this? He is an excellent pianist. No more than that. He's not a genius...he's playing another mans music. It's not like he wrote this...I would know I'm a professional pianist. I have played at numerous philharmonics. I don't consider myself a genius.

  • You're hired!

  • This should be played continuously in DMVs everywhere

  • wonderful, thanks for sharing

    Mehrak

  • "thats not saying much now adays"

  • all great musicians start with great hair

  • There are so many critics out there; how could you not watch this and think, Evgeny is genius. I do.

  • It's not a song, songs people sing. This is piano piece Sergey Prokofiev wrote for ballet Rome and Juliet after reading the novel.

  • @sevidg Lol

  • @pedro2000pe Yes. He plays the piano very good. I like classical music and popular music with good arrangements. cheers.

  • @pedro2000pe Yes he is... drunk of his passion for music.

  • 4 people dislike Russians

  • Amazing. Totally the best living pianist

  • where can i get notes of this song? ;/

  • @BabaCione69 I just got this notes. so if you have a mind, send a mail to me. kkth8021@naver.com then I'll send this notes to you. :)

  • @Techmaninoff im w8ing

  • @BabaCione69 i'd be more interested in finding the lyrics for this "song"

  • It´s so visible that he really enjoys this playing, especially this piece is very powerful and I feel a lot of different feelings during playing... It´s my favourite now.

I was just a little bit surprised that he wasn´t using pedal very much in the central part (the quiet and calm one). :)

It´s a pity that the video isn´t till the end of it.

  • he has crazy fingers just like me!...yay, i don't feel like a loser anymore!

  • A very strong performance that leaves an impact on u...Gr8 job Kissin!!!

  • too cool...

  • Real "meaty" strong sound, I like it

  • Comment removed

  • He is very good player.. no, he's BRILLIANT! the way that he played it.. :) it's fantastic !!!

  • Steinway & Sons :)

  • Eu admiro uma boa musica....e esta á fantastico, muito eletrizante.

  • .....somebody please arrange this for guitar.....

  • Look...the tradition for crazy hair for pianist is still going on...i honestly look like a porcupine , and thats not even styled its 100% natural : )

  • Gota love his hair!

  • How do I find this on Medici tv? I can't find any Evgeny kissin Videos on there.

  • @ChrisWatch We're working on it! However if you have a subscription you can watch the documentary "The Art of Chopin" where he appears.

  • @medicitv excuse me, can i know where i can listen the whole video ? This is awesome !

  • dat afro

  • Beautilful, beautiful... Completely mind blowing.

  • Evgeny the best :P

  • Is it just me or does he look like he wants to sneeze at 1:50

The way he plays is a show in itself...real entertaining.

  • i want to poof his hair....

  • @pian0freak So tempting..

  • @pian0freak Agree...(ㅇㅂㅎ)

  • excellent performance! awful haircut!

  • @Kaandorpius

all these classical pianists have bad hair i think maybe its an unanswerable question of the universe .

  • i'm learning this piece next semester, cannot WAIT!!!!

  • Missing some violins man.

  • Евгений, браво! Приезжайте в Москву чаще!

  • Full of expression~~~ I love it so much~~~ thumb up up ups~~~~~

  • Does anyone know where I could find the full version of this wonderful performance by Kissin ?

  • 3 people don't even know what a piano is. And Kissin has a strange face... but he's the best piano player in the world. We can't have everything we want.

  • @MrPasympa Yes, I agree with this. Also, he does have a strange face, but he's not ugly. Interesting maybe. Some women would find him to be gorgeous.

  • @harryhansenmusic I am not a woman, so I can't know :D

  • 3 people do not know what is a piano

  • awesome!!!! the piano sound so beauty~

  • It's such a shame there's only a short section of Moderato Tranquillo! He plays it so beautifully.

  • @MertonSmurf Nelsyeung is absolutely right! You can do almost anything you put your heart on! My piano teacher teaches, new students, in their 50s and they go on to take performing diplomas. Admittedly they will take a little longer than people our age. But keep at it!

  • super KLang....habe eben Lisa de la Salle mit dem gleichen Stück gehört....Kissin ist eine Wohltat!

  • love this song so powerful

  • I just love this piano version of the orchestral score. and evgeny kissin is fabulous

  • @MertonSmurf Mate no you are not!!! When I was 17, I was grade 3, now I'm grade 7, going for grade 8. All that took me only 3 years, just practice practice and practice! :)

  • Grandiose.

  • This piece sounds beast on a Piano...

  • where can i download this score :O

  • and the best hair.......

  • I think that Kissin wears contacts and they were bothering him that's why he was blinking a lot lol.

  • Evgeny, will you marry me?

  • Comment removed

  • The world's greatest living pianist.

  • @MrTonykulas true, true

  • @MrTonykulas agree!! he makes everything sound and look like there's no other way to make it!

  • @MrTonykulas No, the pianist who manages to LOOK most like the greatest living pianist...

  • @MrTonykulas ... He's good - one of the top flight - but above all others? No.

  • @MrTonykulas Maybe. I think Wang, Argerich, Sokolov are close. Ashkenazy is a superior Prokofiev interpreter. Still, Kissin is a genius, no doubt about it.

  • @MrTonykulas -Better not tell Martha that.

  • @MrTonykulas yes, really!!!

  • This song is so hard to play, and the only sheet music I could find has most of the dynamics in Russian T.T

  • @crizyheartschucks I have a version with the Italian dynamics. Private message me if you'd like it :)

  • ROFLMAO nice haircut :D

-->thumbs up pls if you agree ;D

  • This is so wonderful. So powerful and energitic. Bravo!!!

  • where is the video of his verbier 2010 ??

  • @gcaee at medicitv.com until September 30, 2010

  • ez egy nyomi

  • Stunningly effective, and Prokofiev's own, transcription of his ballet music, damn near an improvement on the orchestral original. Not enough of these piano transcriptions on the Tube: all you sort of aspiring pianists out there: HIT IT!. Are you waiting for ME TO DO IT?. Mr. Kissin continues to grow this incredible afro on top of his head. Is it some kind of a product he is using that I never heard about?

  • this song is soo fun to play.

  • where is the whole version????

  • from 1:57 lol facial expressions

  • @Fientjelientje OMG I love how he blinks at every beat hahahahahaha

  • Just can not get enough of Kissin; he is the best!

  • C'est génial bravo je t'admire

  • Is this an official arrangement?

  • damn he's awsome

  • Brava!

  • Kissin is the absolutely best pianist alive, and the best who ever has been at home on this blue planet. So clear is his superiority that even other top pianists sure must be more than just impressed to listen to him, if they have that inner power to admit he is the one.

  • It is odd that Evgeny Kissin isn´t more popular then he is when he clearly is the best pianist alive.

  • A Sparkling Gem... Thank you Medicitv! ==Johnny.

  • маш гоё байна гэхдээ бичлэгийх нь сүүлийн хэсэг байхгүй л жаахан тиймэр хүү...
