  • Nice video, good analysis. I would agree with you, we are long way from growing again. At least 5-10 years to get the US rolling again.

  • Nice beard man, good job.

  • I agree, that 's a brilliant observation. I also expect that Walmart and Sam's Club are not just 'watching the news' for an insight on the economy and what to expect as far as the future health of their company. This 'ain't their first rodeo' and observation of their movements probably are good indicators of things to come.

  • 10000 thats alot of jobs walmart and sams club customer sucks as it is

  • 1.) Severance only $800 and not given to everyone.

2.) 12,000 workers including, fish dept, demos and membership desk persons.

    3.) NO transfers. Outsourcing ONLY.

4.) Lower pay. NO benefits. Fewer hours IF hired by Event Specialist.

5.) Only 3 persons out of 15 per club being hired to low paying outsource company.

This way walmart kicks the elders to the curb and can get by not giving benefits.

  • The sample testers MAKE money for the store (sams club anyway). They drive sales of the items they are giving samples to. Your very right in seeing that as a real indicator of where sams is heading.

  • The growth is coming from the job cutting. It makes companies show more profit when they cut jobs.

  • the main stream media telling everybody things are ok they are lying thing are realy badand gonna get a lot worse trying to keep people from panicing wait till this summer mark my words any none believers

  • this will be a world wide collapse

  • Announcing a ten thousand persons job "cut". Head shaker!

  • WalMart became to Big and un-manageable, and arrogrant !

  • The money isn't frozen..from what Obama says he doesn't want to do that...McCain does.

  • i keep hearing that things are getting better but out here in the real world it gets scarier all the time. The banks just took two more houses on my block. my husband's company just announced 2500 MORE lay offs, and our state unemployment rate just hit a 33 year high.

Great vids - keep them coming. You are one of the few sane voices among all the madness out there.

  • @halfacrehomestead: We are almost out of time. This is the generation that will see the return of Christ. Read Daniel ch7. The NWO is the 4th beast, the one that crushes the whole world. I believe in a pre-trib rapture and I believe it will happen soon, but not before things get quite a bit worse. Read Zecheriah 1:12 - Israel has 70 years in the land until the end of the tribulation. 1948+70=2018...now come back 7 years for the trib and you are at mid 2011. That is how close I think we are.

  • Sams is out sorceing that dept and the company that they are out sorceing this to will pick up most of the layed off people...

  • Yeah Walmart gets a lil funny about things like workman's comp too.I've seen buddies go through the wringer with them over that. Same with Costco. Their loophole is that they are a U.S. company in canada..so they get a kind of double standard here. Our Gov't wont do anything because they want those chain stores and jobs here. Sad huh?

  • i can't wait un till the government will finally go through and stop wallmarts screwing of the little guy i heard a story that the government was stepping in but that was befor the ressession so i guess the government will let thm have it when it all returns to normal it will be a good day when this happens and wall mart only hires old people ex druggies and people that are retarded or slow i one day whent to wall mart and did a mini study and that is how i found out prettyy screwd up

  • Outsource to company using temps , no insurance

  • I see this as a smart move for Sam's. While I hate that people lost jobs, I've always considered these positions as an expense. Only a small percentage of the demo-ers were really friendly and then most of the time they didn't even really know the product they were demo-ing. :( It did draw people in at lunch times to get freebies and I don't think it really got too many actually buying that product.

  • Most of those taste testers are elderly people. The older people just keep getting hit. I am going to watch for that around here to see if they stop taste testers.

  • funny, they claim things are getting better and then things like this happen.makes me wonder,"better for whom?"

    great vids keep`em comin!

  • Good vid Homestead.

I feel bad for those looking for work in the US and worry about what's going to happen here in Canada.

    THank-you.

  • If you read , the jobs are re-marked as temps or contract workers.

Sams and Wal Mart are survivors and are taking share from Mom and Pop.

Basically, its still crashing as "Free trade" has outsourced lots of jobs to india and china where people work for $5/day.These jobs will NEVER come back

  • I was having a hard time finding a way into my safe, but actually, I'm just thick

  • a few more weeks you will look like the wolfman! lol hows the weather up there?

  • For what it is worth, the folks on CNBS, uh I mean CNBC said that they were merely going to outsource the part-time demonstration jobs.

  • thanks

  • My Niece just lost her job Last week, she worked at Sam Club in Nampa Idaho, 160 people lost thier jobs. Unemployment is 9.5 percent Many Businessess are going under!!!!!!!! It is hard for people to find work in Idaho!!!!

  • I just heard on the news tonight that Sams Club was cutting 20,000 jobs.... Irregardless, thats ALOT of jobs... The bottom line is this. We have more unemployed people than we have jobs for. With companies constantly moving overseas so they can fatten their wallets, we will never have enough jobs to get even half the unemployed people jobs.

If you want a job, you may have to move to China!!!

Great vid bud.... I like these economic videos!! 5*****

  • Hang in there brother. A few more years and America will be reborn.

  • I already know (as does many) that the economy isn't improving much if at all. It's still very hard for many to find even a minimum wage job and with major employers cutting jobs, these people are going to be looking for work also.

  • I have worked at Sam's Club for years, and the last thing that the "demonstrations" were doing was building growth. The only thing they did was serve food that Sam's has been selling for years. Everyone knows what cheese sticks and yogurt taste like, but they still come to Sam's for a free lunch on the weekend. I'm actually glad the this lay off happened. There was no way that Sam's was making money from these positions.

  • you do have a good piont my guess is that if they thought it was of no effect they would have cut them sooner ?? hm well thanks for the post cheers
