ive watched ano hana, and Ive seen clannad...ano hana is my preferred of the two. why? All the dying in clannad only to see nagisa and ushio miraculously resurrected by collecting orbs of light was too contrived, and convenient for the plot. ano hana had that real sense of loss, but also a purposeful meaning towards the ending and the progression of the characters

Whats great about these anime is that the characters become your friends, you get to know and love them, and care about what happens... that is the greatest kind of show.
