I just discovered Tesseract and I am going to buy both albums as soon as i can afford it. Djent is awesome. Still I'm not sure why you couldn't call it prog-metal. I always thought prog-metal to be more general by nature than the other more strictly defined genre's of metal. I guess its the breakdowns, which i have to say (tesseract's) are some of the coolest i have heard.

@Astonmartin4444 Well if you like these guys, then why would you be concerned about what genre they fall under? Would you stop liking them if I told you these guys fell under a genre you didn't like? For some reason that feels like the internet mentality these days when it comes to music and I think it's a bit ridiculous. But anyways to answer your question, this is progressive metal. Some people even classify it as a subgenre of progressive metal called djent.

the phase needs to be flipped on the guitar, the bass i=needs to make more room for the drums in the mix, the EQ is terrible. They did a lot of compression before taking the frequencies out.

TesseracT = God among artists (In my opinion). A truly talented band filling one of the narrow gaps in Metal Music, which I didn't realise I was even waiting for to be filled.

So I feel ashamed to have considered myself wary when pre-ordering the EP. Wasn't sure what sound I was going to be lambasted by - turns out supporting a band from my hometown has paid off perfect XD

I saw them live opening for the great Devin Townsend and they blew me away. I fought my way out of the pit when I was damn close to the stage just to buy this EP and a shirt....I ended up meeting the singer and I gave the band an extra five bucks because I thought they kicked that much ass live. I want to see these guys go places.

UGH, they watered down the heaviest part from 4:00-5:56. Anyone who doesnt know of Concealing Fate before this EP should seriously check out the related video of concealing fate part 1 by Pimander. It had the old singer and in my opinion sounds a million times better than this, hell even if you did know go check it out, its ridiculous how much its changed...FUCK I was really looking forward to this EP.
